Hi {NAME}, Himanshu here from OptimizeSmart. I hope you are doing well. I have couple of updates for you... # Get helpful tips on daily basis If you are the type of person who finds it helpful to receive short tips on GA4, improving conversions, fixing attribution issues and learning about analytics in general, then follow me on LinkedIn. I post a few short tips each day. [Click here and follow me on LinkedIn](. #1 [How to remove not set landing pages in GA4](. The ‘page_view’ event needs to be the first event in a session for GA4 to correctly set the landing page. GA4 uses the first ‘page_view’ event of a session to determine the landing page. If any other event fires before the ‘page_view’ event, the landing page is recorded as “(not set)“. #2 [How to find 404 pages (broken links) in GA4](. Follow the steps below to find 404 pages (broken links) in GA4 (Google Analytics 4): >> Make sure that your broken links are hard 404 and not soft 404. >> Navigate to a 404 page on your website and take note of what the page titles read. >> Create a new exploration report in your GA4 property to track 404 pages (broken links). >> Download the report in Google Sheets and work on fixing broken links. It is calculated as ‘Purchase Revenue’ / ‘Transactions’. #3 Just because a user has granted consent for cookies does not automatically mean you can track their activities in GA4. Many GA4 users innocently believe that user consent preferences are the major contributing factor in not getting enough data or accurate data in their GA4 properties. That, when a user grants consent, you can track their activities in GA4 or retarget them via Google Ads. However, this belief is oversimplified. Use consent is just one factor, and it is not even the most contributing factor. Numerous technical barriers can prevent tracking, even with consent. You may not be able to track consented users in many situations. For example, I use a Chrome extension called 'Google Analytics Opt Out Add-on', which automatically disables Google Analytics. It is almost always enabled. So whether I accept consent or deny it, does not matter. You won't be able to record my website usage data in GA4. Similarly, many people use ad blockers, privacy extensions and VPNs, automatically disabling GA4/GTM at the web browser level. So, it does not matter whether they accept or deny consent for cookies. You won't be able to record their activities. Explicit user consent is becoming a thing of the past. We are now moving into the world of "NEVER CONSENT". Browser extensions like 'Ghostery' have 'ad-blocking', 'anti-tracking' and 'never consent' enabled by default. 'Never consent' automatically rejects cookie consent notices. This feature automatically opts out of all tracking requests and GDPR pop-ups, preventing users from even seeing them. As 'Never consent' gains popularity, more and more of your Google tags will remain in the "Still Running" state because the consent choices will never be sent to Google tags. You can never really comprehend how much web browsers are skewing your GA4 data beyond user consent preferences until you can compare client-side data with server-side data. Consent does not guarantee tracking. #4 [Get the 62 points GA Checklist ebook (45 pages)](. Set Up Your Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Account Correctly And Fast like a pro. #5 Do you want expert help in setting up/fixing GA4 and GTM?
