The fighting=C2=A0has taken its toll; many thous= ands of civilians have been killed in both Hamas' initial, horrific attacks= on Israel and in Israel's subsequent campaign in Gaza.=C2=A0 =C2=A0 But the war has also deeply impacted the Palestinian Ch= ristian community. In his book, Light Force (written with Al Janss= en), Open Doors=E2=80=99 founder Brother Andrew has some words that=C2=A0se= em prophetic for the current time: =C2=A0 =E2=80=9CThe unending conflict sickened me,= but what hurt even more was knowing that my brothers and sisters were caug= ht in the midst of the fighting. Believers in Jesus Christ lived i= n Israel, the West Bank and Gaza. =E2=80=A6 I was convinced that there was = a contribution that the Christian community could make. Perhaps it was only= to be a light.=E2=80=9D=C2=A0 =C2=A0 That=E2=80=99s why, through our local partners, Open Do= ors is working hard to support and offer hope and light to our brothers and= sisters in the Palestinian Territories. [Find out how](3D".=) The curren= t conflict between Israel and Hamas can seem never-ending=E2=80=94and hopel= ess. So many people have died, and we see that God=E2=80=99s people are suf= fering in the conflict. But Open Doors=E2=80=99 calling has always been to = =E2=80=9Cstrengthen what remains=E2=80=9D (Rev. 3:2). That=E2=80=99s why th= is work is so important. =C2=A0 =E2=80=9CWe are servants, to restore hope and bring= people back to the church and to Christ,=E2=80=9D says Rami, an Open = Doors partner and Palestinian Christian. =E2=80=9CIf we walk His walk, = we bring change.
