The Library for the Performing Arts celebrates the fundamental contributions of artists of color and artists from immigrant or Indigenous communities to the history of modern dance in a new large-scale exhibition. Through an examination of war, exile, inequality, and injustice, the exhibition constructs a new narrative of 20th-century modern dance performance with a fuller, more inclusive history focusing on the exiled and marginalized dancers who catalyzed modern dance.

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive (TOFT), the first and foremost collection of video-recorded live theatre performances in the world, with a conversation between theatre journalist Janice C. The two will discuss the history of the archive over the years, share video excerpts from the archive's vast collections, and highlight the current exhibition Focus Center Stage: 50 Years of the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive, which closes on June 24.

Online applications are open for the Schomburg Center Junior Scholars Program, a free Saturday program taking place in person during the academic year. Kids and teens from fifth through 12th grades are eligible to participate. This pre-college Black Studies program provides college-style lectures and presentations, conversations with established scholars and instructors, guided peer group discussions, and workshops and explorations into the wealth of collections at the Schomburg Center. Priority will be given to applications submitted by July 28.
