A real conversation about NYC We all love New York City, {NAME}. As Comptroller, I’m dedicated not just to preserving what’s already great about New York, but to making room for new ideas and developments that will make it even better. That’s going to require much better management, honest leadership, some vision, and real conversations – like the one I started during my speech at the Association for a Better New York (ABNY) Power Breakfast this morning. [Read]( or [watch]( my full remarks to learn more about my vision for what I know New York City can be. During my [speech]( I: - Shared my plan to end street homelessness for severely mentally ill people - Called for municipal control and an ambitious re-envisioning of CUNY - Committed to a dramatically renewed focus on affordable homeownership These are just some of the ideas I [spoke]( about today that will help achieve a safer, more affordable, more livable, and better-run city. Because not a day goes by where people don’t stop me to express their frustration with the city’s direction. New Yorkers want to feel safe taking the subway or walking their dogs in the evening. They want buses that run on time, and libraries that are open when you need them. They want to trust their government, because they believe they have a place in our city’s future. I believe every New Yorker has a place in our city’s future, too. Please [read]( or [watch]( my ABNY speech to learn more about my vision.
