It's story time, {NAME}... 🛏️ I remember the first time I was called to the death bed

It's story time, {NAME}... 🛏️ I remember the first time I was called to the death bed of a man named Bill. This appointment was a far cry from the energetic, light, loan signing appointments I was used to. With real estate purchases, especially for first time home buyers, there is an air of excitement. But this…this was different. The mood was still surprisingly light, as Bill was surrounded by people that loved him and were committed to sharing his last moments with him. There was a lot of laughing. A lot of food 🍕. I notarized the documents, said farewell (a for real and forever goodbye), and out the door I went.I sobbed in my car, for how long, I don’t know 😭. And I sobbed when I got home. It was somewhat synchronistic that a man named Bill taught me the most important lesson in my notary journey-that this work matters. He passed away within hours of our appointment together.People are counting on us to know what we’re doing when they need us most. We truly are often the last line of defense against fraud and theft 🤓.And sometimes, we may not get a second chance to get things right.I needed that appointment with Bill, and I often think about where I’d be today if some divine division of the Universe 👼hadn’t intervened and humbled me that day.I know that finding success as a mobile notary and loan signing agent actually saved my life. I needed this win, I needed something to finally work for me. And I found it here. But I wonder if I would have run amuck, had not Bill stepped in and died. This intersection 🧭 of our lives taught me reverence for this office that I hold as a notary public and it permeates nearly everything that I do-every appointment I take, every lesson I teach, even every book that I write. He made a difference that day, in my life, and likely now in yours, a ripple effect 🌊 that is gently lapping through the world, nearly ten years after he died.In our line of work, there’s a ripple effect too. Sometimes the waves 🌊hit the shore right away, like in Bill’s case, but sometimes it takes decades before the impact of our work is felt. That’s why it’s such an honor to share this journey with you, who also share this deep respect for the work we do here.This. Work. Matters. ✊Happy Notary Public Day! Bill PS: Be sure to download your free copy of my Notary Business Building Challenge book here: [( *Plus, nearly all of my books are free on Kindle today too!
