= = {NAME}, Hello from NYC! After a whirlwind weekend of attending TWO weddings (one in Austin, another in LA), I'm back in the city for the foreseeable future. Those two back-to-back weddings really took a lot out of me and I'll be spending this week resting as much as possible. My body is unsure what time zone it is currently in! lol How long until I get itchy feet again is anyone's guess! But, besides working on my next book, I'll be spending the next couple of weeks writing blog posts, including a couple about the gear I use when I travel. I've been getting a lot of questions about what brands I use for luggage, clothes, backpacks, my VPN, etc., etc., and, since I hardly ever write about this stuff, I'm going to update all the old content — and write a few new posts to boot! In fact, this week's new post is on the clothing brand Unbound Merino, which makes amazing travel clothes. I've been wearing them ever since I met the founder years ago. It stands up to the abuse of the road while still being comfy! [You can read the blog here](. But, beyond writing, I'm going to spend the next few months enjoying fall as much as possible. Travel, for all its wonders, makes you appreciate home and routine and, after a non-stop three months, I am very much looking forward to a little routine. UPCOMING WEBINARS [Everything You Need to Know About Annual Travel Insurance]() - Since annual travel insurance coverage is one of our most asked about topics, we’ve partnered with [World Nomads]( to help shed light on this important topic. They'll be joining us to share everything you need to know about annual travel insurance! The event is on October 29th at 12pm ET. [You can sign up here](). (It's free!) Note: Everyone who signs up for a webinar gets a recording so be sure to register even if you can't attend! UPDATED RESOURCES The team and I have been working hard to update lots of articles and guides! Here are the latest batch of posts that have been updated: - [Why You Should Use World Nomads When You Travel]( - [How to Spend 24 Hours in Dublin]() - [Travel Credit Cards: What You Need to Know]() (New cards added!) - [How to Visit Easter Island on a Budget]() - [My Favorite Hotels Around the World]( (New hotels added!) - [New Zealand's Most Epic Hike](=) - [My Favorite Hostels Around the World](=) (New hostels added!) - [How to Avoid Staying in Bad Hostels](=) NEWS & STORIES FROM AROUND THE WEB 1. [Save $50 on Flytographer](=) - I recently did some photoshoots around Europe with the company, Flytographer. The pics came out great. You can see examples from my Instagram [here](, [here](, and [here](. You can get $50 off your first photoshoot with the code NOMADICMATT50. 2. [Another Airline is Phasing Out Complimentary Food](=) - The race to the bottom continues as another airline starts testing buy-on-board meals. 3. [This is the Happiest City in the World](=) - An interesting read, as I don't think a lot of people have been to (or even heard of) the top city! 4. [The Points Guy is Giving Away 1,000,000 Miles]( - The Points Guy is giving away 1 million miles to help raise money for Make-A-Wish. Check it out!! BOOK OF THE WEEK There's no book of the week this week. I'm currently in the middle of a couple but haven't finished any of them yet. For all past book recommendations, [check out this list](). NEW BLOG POSTS [Are These the Best Travel Clothes?]( ¢Â€Â‹ I've been wearing Unbound Merino while I travel for years. Here's why I love them — and why I think you should buy their clothes for your next trip! QUOTE OF THE WEEK “Conventional wisdom tells us… we take our baggage with us. I’m not so sure. Travel, at its best, transforms us in ways that aren’t always apparent until we’re back home. Sometimes we do leave our baggage behind, or, even better, it’s misrouted to Cleveland and is never heard from." - Eric Weiner *** As always, if you have any questions, reply to this email. I'll be happy to help. Sincerely, Nomadic Matt P.S. - Booking a trip soon?
