= = {NAME}, Welcome to this week's newsletter! I'm back in the swing of things after a hectic first two weeks back home. I finally feel like I have my routine down a bit, though this weekend I'm off to Austin and Los Angeles for two back-to-back weddings. I feel like a lot of being an adult is saying, "Next week, things will calm down a bit" every week until you die! lol But I digress. What I really want to talk about this week is meeting people on the road. Earlier this year, when I was writing the next edition of my budget travel guide, I went down the rabbit hole of services that connect travelers and locals. There used to be a lot, most famously Couchsurfing. But, as paywalls went up and tastes shifted, Couchsurfing and sites like it got used less and less. But you know what is the current best way to meet people? Facebook groups. They are used by travelers of all ages, which I found surprising given that most people under 35 use other apps these days. And, given the large amount of spam on Facebook, I expected these groups to be a waste of time. But, while you do have to wade through a lot of garbage and creepy accounts, you can find some really interesting, authentic people looking to make connections. I used these groups while in Europe and met some great people who showed me around. This week's blog details that experience and how you can (safely) do the same on your next trip. [Check it out here](=). UPCOMING WEBINARS [How to Succeed as a Digital Nomad](=)- In this detailed webinar, I'll break down how I work and travel so that you can learn from my mistakes, optimize your workflow, and make the most of your time abroad.
