= = {NAME}, Greetings from NYC! This is a busy week as I leave for Europe next Monday. I'll be gone for two months so there's a lot of planning and prep work happening! It's the longest trip I've taken in a long time so I'm curious to see if I'll make it the full two months. (Usually, after a month, I'm ready to go home.) Over the past couple of years, work and friend trips have often pulled me to previously visited destinations so I'm excited about going to a lot of new spots this trip. I plan to visit Provence, a lot of southern Germany, Ibiza, Latvia, and Lithuania. And that means new stories and articles! I haven't really written anything new in close to two years. I felt like I said everything I needed to say about travel. But, now that my next book is finished, I've decided that it's time to come back to the blog. I've been itching to share stories and have a ton of new ideas for posts. I've already started working on some and I'm sure my upcoming travels will inspire me to write even more. I'm inspired again and I'm really excited about that. Until then, there are a bunch of other updates to share below, including a new webinar! UPCOMING WEBINARS [House Sitting 101: How to Get Started](=) - Want to travel the world without paying for accommodation? Love animals and taking care of them? Join us for a webinar where you’ll learn about the world of house sitting! We'll talk about how to get started, tips on finding sits, red flags to look out for, and so much more! The event is on July 18th at 7pm ET. [You can sign up here if you want to attend](=). (Everyone who signs up will get a recording of the event, so feel free to sign up even if you can't make it in person!) THE BEST PILLOW FOR LONG-HAUL FLIGHTS Long-haul flights can be a pain in the neck — literally. That’s why I love [the Trtl Pillow](. It’s way more comfortable than your standard neck pillow and doesn’t take up a lot of space in your bag either. Whenever I fly long-haul flights, it’s the pillow I use. It’s a must for travelers and frequent flyers! TRIP PLANNING RESOURCES The summer travel season (for those in the northern hemisphere) is upon us!! As I did last week, I want to share some resources for you: If you're staying in a hostel this summer, [here's my complete list of favorite hostels](=). If you're looking for a hotel, [here's my complete list of favorite hotels](. If you still need a cheap flight, [this post has all my best tips and tricks](. If you're renting a car, [this post shows you how to save money on rentals](). Since you should never travel without insurance, [here's my A to Z guide on picking policies!]( And, if you need a travel guide, I have over [250 FREE destination guides]() on my site that can help you plan your trip, save money, and make the most of your time abroad! NEWS & STORIES FROM AROUND THE WEB 1. [Spain’s Sagrada Família Finally Has a Completion Date]( - After 140 years of construction, this famous church is almost complete. 2. [Does Off-Season Travel Exist Anymore?](=) - An interesting essay on how, post-COVID, the crowds never seem to go away. 3. [Portugal is Launching the World’s Longest Circular Hiking Trail to Combat Overtourism]( - Portugal’s hotspots are overwhelmed with visitors. This new hiking trail is trying to fix that. BOOK OF THE WEEK [The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho]() - This is one of my most-read books. I think I've read this like 10 times. It always reinspires me. The story follows a young shepherd boy from Spain to Egypt as he follows his heart, goes with the flow, and learns about love and the meaning of life. I can’t recommend this book enough. [Get it on Amazon]() | [Get in on Bookshop]() For all past book recommendations, [check out this list](). NEW BLOG POSTS [12 Things I'd Tell Any New Traveler]( I recently refreshed this post for the upcoming travel season.
