the truth is {NAME}, the GOP will still be Trump’s party long after he’s gone [continue reading] {NAME}, as findings from the January 6th committee's work are released: it's more obvious than ever that Trump's 2024 bid is a desperate attempt to complicate the many investigations into his own corruption. [trumpism]( Here’s the thing, even if Trump doesn’t clinch their party’s nomination, it won’t change the fact that anti-American MAGA extremism is baked into the GOP’s DNA at this point. The disdain for minority groups and hostility towards programs to help the poor and working class have been in the Republican party for much longer than Trump. It’s what the GOP stands for. Despite its name, Trumpism is not a symptom of Trump, it’s a symptom of decades of Republican rhetoric. Just like everything in his life, Trump didn’t succeed within the Republican party by building something new, but by taking advantage of what was already there. Even “make America great again” was first used by Ronald Reagan. All Trump did was come along and sell the same old policies Republicans had been peddling, but this time without the facade of courtesy. Trump has encouraged Republicans to embrace the darkness and bigotry that they quietly harnessed for decades. The new waves of Republicans are more and more like Trump: from Ron DeSantis’ cruel governing style to Marjorie Taylor Greene's brazen disregard of reality, or Matt Gaetz and his ongoing scandals. Even after Trump is gone, his influence will ripple for decades through the candidates he has inspired. Having your support in this fight makes all the difference. In solidarity, - No Dem Left Behind Paid for by No Dem Left Behind PAC. Not authorized by any federal candidate or candidate's committee.
