Trump's VP pick is tanking in the polls... JD Vance is Weird {NAME}, Let's face it: JD Vance is weird. Saying that political leaders without biological children "don't really have a direct stake" in the country is outlandish, to say the least. His odd viewpoints alienate a significant portion of the population and raise questions about Vance's grasp on reality. The Democrats' new strategy of labeling Trump and Vance as weird seems to be working brilliantly. We have seen in the media that it frustrates opponents, leading them to amplify it further with their off-balance responses. So far, Trump and Vance have been incapable of finding an effective comeback, leaving them scrambling. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a potential vice-presidential candidate for Harris, called Trump and Vance "just weird" in a recent interview. The Democratic Governors Association amplified this sentiment, spreading it across social media. Walz even referenced Trump's bizarre habit of mentioning the fictional serial killer Hannibal Lecter from "Silence of the Lambs" in his stump speeches, adding to the weirdness factor. Harris's campaign hasn't missed a beat in highlighting Vance's oddities. In a recent news release, they described Vance's out-of-touch ideas, particularly his stance on abortion and his comments about childless leaders. Harris allies, including Sens. Brian Schatz of Hawaii and Chris Murphy of Connecticut, have also chimed in, calling Vance's past comments "super weird." At her first fundraiser as the likely Democratic nominee, Harris herself called out Trump's "wild lies" and Vance's peculiar statements, reiterating that the only box to put them in is "weird." This new narrative has given Democrats a powerful advantage, one they rarely had when President Biden was still in the race. JD Vance's weirdness isn't a new revelation, either. While the majority of the public is learning who Vance is for the first time through these strange headlines, he has a history of making controversial remarks. In a 2021 interview, Vance slammed prominent childless Democrats, including Harris, as "childless cat ladies" with no stake in America. This comment alone is enough to raise eyebrows and question his judgment. Harris's quip in 2018, when preparing for a potential debate with Trump, sums it up perfectly: "Why are you being so weird? What's wrong with you?" Despite their attempts to flip the script, Trump and Vance have struggled. Trump spokesman Steven Cheung's attempts to redirect the weird label back at Harris and her allies have fallen flat. Donald Trump Jr.'s online rants about "soft on crime" politicians and Vance's reposting of videos criticizing Harris only highlight their desperation. In contrast, Democrats have masterfully co-opted Republican attack lines, using the "weird" label to their advantage. The Republicans' previous tactics of sharing clips of Harris's laugh or her stories have backfired, with Democrats now embracing these moments as in-jokes. The "coconut tree" anecdote has even become a symbol of unity among Harris's supporters.
