Google is not known for meeting in-person with small publishers. However, that's exactly what happened last month, when 20 bloggers that were crushed by the Helpful Content Update met with engineers at Google HQ. Better yet...one of my good friends was 1 of those 20 bloggers inside this "secret" meeting! Jake Cain is no stranger to the Niche Pursuits Podcast and has even guest hosted a few episodes. So, when I heard that he was invited to Google headquarters, I just knew I wanted to get the full scoop. And fortunately, Jake agreed to share exactly what happened at this meeting on the [Niche Pursuits podcast in today's episode right here](=). All of these bloggers were crushed by the Helpful Content Update; and yet, all of them were previously Google publisher success stories. These are real creators, writing real content. Even Danny Sullivan (Google search liaison) said at the meeting that "there's nothing wrong with your content". Its a Google problem, not a publisher problem. These small publishers (including Jake) had a chance to confront Google with hard hitting questions and to tell their stories. How did Google respond? What was the most insightful takeaway? Is Google going to roll-back the Helpful Content Update? I highly suggest that you listen to this full interview if you are a small publisher. This might be one of the best interviews of the year. [Read, Watch, or Listen to Jake Cain's Story from the Google Meeting Right Here.]() --------------------------------------------------------------- Ready to Start the Email Newsletter Growth Challenge?
