[View Online]( ) Debate night in America First off, I want to be clear we are not going to talk about the substance of the debate â there's more analysis and memes already than one person could consume between now and November, so we're not going to be adding to that. What we are going to do is talk about that coverage, and what people said about the debate, and how the public engaged with it. Since this time yesterday, there have been more than 32k articles written about the debate specifically, with more than a million engagements with those articles. Given the medium, it's also no surprise that TikTok had a major role to play in the coverage of the debate, with MSNBC's posts on [fact-checking]( and [Roe vs. Wade]( and the Daily Mail's about Trump's Springfield comments all having around a million engagements. What's perhaps just as interesting as media coverage, though, is what candidates and their surrogates have been saying in the past 24 hours. Trump's top post on Facebook [touted a "BIG WIN" at the debate,]( while his AI photo post from before the debate of [himself surrounded by cats and geese]( (ducks maybe? not sure...) saw almost a million engagements on Instagram. Harris, meanwhile, led on X with a claim that [Trump has "no plan for you"]( referring to the American people, and her running mate Tim Walz [reinforced they wouldn't be taking anyone's Second Amendment rights](. Meanwhile, Harris's Kamala HQ page took the lead on TikTok, posting [highlights of the Vice President]( that racked up nearly a million engagements. Rising above every single piece of coverage and spin, though, was [Taylor Swift's endorsement of the Harris/Walz campaign](. Where no other individual post has more than two million interactions, Swift's endorsement has more than eight million, and still rising at time of writing, making it one of her top posts of the year as well as the clear top post of the aftermath of the debate. A lot more ink will be spilled analyzing and re-analyzing every second of the nearly two hours that many of us spent staring at the TV last night. And yes, the spin and narratives may update, but we hope this serves at least as a snapshot in time of everyone's initial reactions to the evening. Apple promises more artificial intelligence at its latest release event Apple unveiled a number of new offerings at its "It's Glowtime" event on Monday, including the iPhone 16, the tech giant's first smartphone specifically built for generative artificial intelligence. While Apple also introduced updates to its Watch and unveiled new AirPods with a built-in hearing aid feature, it was the iPhone 16 that dominated headlines. Bloomberg had the [top article about the event overall](, honing in on Apple's aim to entice shoppers with new AI technology that would allow them to create text and images based on natural language prompts. With eight articles generating over 7.3k engagements, Bloomberg landed as the top publisher reporting on the event. In terms of social media coverage, [Pubity's carousel post]( showing every new feature upgrade earned 358k engagements. Interestingly enough, the comment section was flooded with underwhelming responses, with the public seeming to agree that this phone is not drastically different to previous models.
