Do you enjoy NewsThump's political satire? It gets better with a paid subscription. Your support matters! FACEBOOK WANTS NEWSTHUMP GONE! Hello , This morning we posted a joke about the Tory leadership election.  We joked that they were introducing a swimsuit round and a pop quiz, a silly joke to make the whole thing sound more like the beauty parade it actually is.  Well, Facebook did NOT like that.  Not only did they delete it for including nudity (it did not) and being overtly sexual in nature (it was not), they have now punished the site by demoting it in their feed and demonetising it for “breaching community standards” We appealed against that punishment, of course, but that was rejected without so much as a message from a real human being, and now we sit here with a Facebook page that doesn’t reach any of the 400,000 people who follow it, and which no longer contributes to paying our monthly bills. Fickle social media algorithms are nothing new - we’ve been fighting to stay the right side of them for a few years now, but it looks like they’ve finally won, and made it impossible for us to make silly jokes at the expense of our politicians. In the current climate, NewsThump’s days could be numbered, unless you can help? If readers like you were able to support us with a small paid subscription, then it wouldn’t matter WHAT Facebook does, because we could confidently make whatever jokes we like, without worrying how we pay the bills each month. Paid subscribers like you help protect our freedom to deliver the content you love, uninterrupted and unfiltered. Here’s what you’ll gain as a paid subscriber: - Ad-Free Access: Enjoy our entire site without the distraction of ANY ads, giving you a smoother, more enjoyable reading experience (no more subscription prompts, no more plugs for NewsThump merchandise. Just the content, and nothing else). - Exclusive Content: Unlock access to subscriber-only articles and special features, all with our trademark satirical touch. - Warm Fuzzies: Your subscription directly supports our mission to provide high-quality topical satire and keeps our independent voice alive during these pivotal times. For as little as £3 a month, you can help us stick two fingers up to Zuckerberg and show Facebook that it can’t dictate the things you want to see. We understand that times are tough, and that every pound counts, but if you’ve ever laughed out loud or felt a spark of enlightenment from our work, and you think we’re worth a single cup of coffee a month, then we hope you’ll consider supporting us in this crucial way. Thank you for being a valued member of our community. Together, we can stick a finger in the eye of big tech, and challenge the status quo - all while hopefully keeping a smile on our faces!  If you are able to support us, you can do so at the link below: [Support NewsThump HERE]( Thank you!
