We continue breaking down insiders buys during blackout earnings period. Hey , How is your weekend going? I had fun watching yesterday's game of Texas Longhorns vs Georgia Bulldogs here in Austin. Even though Texas loses it-the game was spectacular. 105,000 fans appearing at the game, Austin Downtown flooded with burnt orange, B1B Airforce Bombers flyovers at the stadium-these are just a part of it. And nice 10% discount at major TX grocery store chains everywhere if you come over wearing UT shirt. Really enjoyed it! Ok, back to trading week.. I ran the Insider Spy Pro this morning, to see if there are any candidates deserving the attention, that might be a good pickup for coming week. And you know, being in blackout period before earnings releases, there are not so many trades to follow. In last email, we went through possible reasons why the insider still buys huge amount when he is not allowed to, and why it is allowed as the exception. And here is interesting filing came up: Mr. Warren Buffett has just invested $42 Million Dollars into SiriusXM Holdings, Inc. (SIRI) last Wednesday. The day before that, the stock already made 10% gap up from $24 to $27, and Mr. Buffett fill price is $27.05. At the same time, there is the Options Activity around $30 with expiration in November and December. Remember we discussed that there should be a very good reason to trade for the insider during the blackout period? And one of these reasons is 10b5-1 Plan filing, that exactly describes what type of trade can be placed. Ok, what if the market conditions are not that favorable to follow the 10b5-1 and you just don't want to buy? Are you still obligated to pay and follow the plan? No. There are 2 ways to avoid bad trade for them during Earnings Season with Trading Plan in place. - Amend or cancel 10b5-1 before they posess material non-public information - Set up flexibility in 10b5-1 Plan allowing not to execute trade, like price thesholds. But what if the trade is still placed, like Warren Buffett just did? $42M is not a pocket money to risk out, even for Mr. Buffett. And especially for the investor like him, with thousands of analysts and supercomputers working day and night. Right? I see the only reason if the trade is executed at this point-that the things are going according to the plan, and there is nothing extraordinary happening with the stock. The 'Smart Money' plan is being executed exactly as it's supposed to, and expectations are highly positive. Looking at the chart, it does have the potential to grow up to $30 and even higher, within the next few weeks: The next Earnings Release is in 11 days, Oct 31st, 2024. If it becomes negative-i don't think there should be a big insiders buy 2 weeks prior. I am adding SIRI to my watchlist, waiting for opportunity to start happening, and setting up the Target Price at $34.43 with the timeframe of December 20th, 2024. With today price of $27.61, it's 25% ROI on stock, and 250% on Call Option. Can be a nice way to triple the money within 7 weeks.
