One of the Javan slow lorises in this video is seen looking around after its release, almost as if it's going through the same thing. Slow lorises are heavily trafficked for the pet trade, and it’s uncertain how many are left in the wild. They face poachers and habitat loss, too. The 20 animals rescued in West Java will be monitored for up to four weeks to see how they’re adapting. Here’s to them having a warm homecoming. — Fritz Burnett, producer [WATCH NOW]( SHARE [F]( [T]( . See how other elephants mourn and, as the carcass becomes a busy ecosystem, watch it provide food for hundreds of animals. When a large animal dies naturally in the wild, nothing goes to waste. — [Richie Hertzberg]( associate producer [WATCH NOW]( SHARE [F]( [T]( [Further: Watch What Happens When Scavengers Find a Several-Ton Carcass +]( [EXPLORING SINCE 1888 | SUBSCRIBE NOW +]( [EXPLORING SINCE 1888 | SUBSCRIBE NOW +]( . For many of us, the power and devastation of these watery storms is somewhat abstract. How could one ever be truly prepared for such natural violence, especially in the face of the increased rain, flooding, and storm surge projected to accompany a changing climate? In remembrance of the overwhelming hurricane season of 2017, and with Mangkhut and Florence just past, take a moment to empathize, reflect, inform, and prepare for whatever comes next. — [Crystal Berg]( associate producer [WATCH NOW]( SHARE [F]( [T]( . [2:37 | UNESCO World Heritage Sites]( [Journey Into Old Havana's Vibrant History]( One July morning in 2015, I saw a small crowd gathered outside an old building on 16th Street in Washington, D.C. Above them waved a Cuban flag. This was again an embassy to the United States. Relations had improved, in part, because of political change in Cuba. One of that country’s greatest assets has withstood such changes for centuries. In the historic quarter of Old Havana, conquistadors’ fortresses still guard churches and palaces. And still playing on its streets is the music that is some of Cuba’s best diplomacy. — James Burch, producer [WATCH NOW]( SHARE [F]( [T]( [FURTHER: Discover Old Havana's Vibrant Architectural Heritage +]( .
