--------------------------------------------------------------- Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive ----

[MTGGoldfish][Magic Newsletter] [width="1"] --------------------------------------------------------------- Commander Clash Podcast 127: Best Commander Cards Released in 2023 --------------------------------------------------------------- Here's our picks for the best cards released in 2023![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive --------------------------------------------------------------- [Bloodthirsty Adversary](Midnight+Hunt/Bloodthirsty+Adversary#paper) [Arcbound Ravager](Ravager#paper) [Jetmir's Garden](of+New+Capenna/Jetmirs+Garden#paper) This week in the world of Magic finance, the biggest winner was [Bloodthirsty Adversary](Midnight+Hunt/Bloodthirsty+Adversary#paper) with the Innistrad: Midnight Hunt mythic nearly doubling up to $22. [Bloodthirsty Adversary](Midnight+Hunt/Bloodthirsty+Adversary#paper) has been a four-of in Standard Mono-Red Aggro for a while now. While the deck is a solid tier option, it hasn't gotten meaningfully better in the past week or two, making it unlikely that deck performance is driving the price increase. On the other hand, we have a bunch of big paper Standard events and qualifiers on the horizon and Mono-Red Aggro is the cheapest tier Standard deck available making it an easy option for grinding qualifiers. My guess is this price increase shows that, at least to some extent, paper Standard is starting to make a comeback and players are actually building paper Standard decks again. Wizards is pushing the format hard and it might actually be working. Meanwhile in Modern, [Arcbound Ravager (Can You Feel with a Heart of Steel)](Lair:Foil/Arcbound+Ravager-Can+You+Feel+with+a+Heart+of+Steel#paper) is on the rise gaining 41% this week to over $25. A few years ago the two-drop was over $50 as the premier card in Affinity - a top tier deck at the time - but over the past few years a combination of reprintings and Affinity falling out of favor dropped the price down near $10. Thanks to the most recent round of Modern bannings though, [Arcbound Ravager (Can You Feel with a Heart of Steel)](Lair:Foil/Arcbound+Ravager-Can+You+Feel+with+a+Heart+of+Steel#paper) is back, this time in Hardened Scales which is currently among the 10 most played decks in the format. Toss in that [Arcbound Ravager (Can You Feel with a Heart of Steel)](Lair:Foil/Arcbound+Ravager-Can+You+Feel+with+a+Heart+of+Steel#paper) hasn't gotten a full reprinting since the original Modern Masters (although it has been in a Secret Lair drop and reprinted as a low-supply promo more recently) and the stage is set for the price of the artifact to rise. If you need a copy, the Secret Lair printing is actually the cheapest on the market at $17, although sadly it only comes in foil which might be an issue for competitive play. Last but not least, [Jetmir's Garden (showcase)](of+New+Capenna/Jetmirs+Garden-showcase#paper) is up to a massive $23.50 after gaining 37% this week. The Triomes have proven to be incredibly playable, not just in Standard, but all the way back to Modern, on top of being Commander staples. Right now the rest of the Streets of New Capenna Triomes are floating in the $8 to $12 price range and might be worth picking up (for reference the original Ikoria Triomes are in the $12 to $17 range). Even the lesser played members of the cycle gained a few% this week and as [Jetmir's Garden (showcase)](of+New+Capenna/Jetmirs+Garden-showcase#paper) shows, the ceiling of the cycle is quite high. If you need some Triomes, I'd either look to snag them soon or wait until after Standard rotates in the fall, which could offer another window to snag the lands at a discount. --------------------------------------------------------------- Single Scoop: Temur Terravore Moon --------------------------------------------------------------- Terravore is a distant cousin of Tarmogoyf and it loves to eat lands so let's jam it inside a Blue Moon-esque deck![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Ranking All Commander Precons From 2023 --------------------------------------------------------------- Tomer ranks all 25 Commander precons released in 2023![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- The Best Magic: the Gathering Kills of 2023 --------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks to all of you 2023 has been an awesome year so today we're looking back on our best Magic: the Gathering kills of the year![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- This Week in Legacy: The Legacy Round Table - "The End of 2023" Edition --------------------------------------------------------------- Joe Dyer assembles a final Round Table to look at Legacy and forward into 2024![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Vintage 101: Looking Back at 2023 --------------------------------------------------------------- Joe Dyer takes a look back at the year of 2023 for Vintage![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Single Scoop: Can You Jund People in Timeless? --------------------------------------------------------------- The Jund Alumni are back and meshed in with the new school Jund cards like Ragavan.
