--------------------------------------------------------------- Against the Odds: I Stole All My Opp

[MTGGoldfish][Magic Newsletter] [width="1"] --------------------------------------------------------------- Against the Odds: I Stole All My Opponent's Lands! (Foundations Standard) --------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks to some new Foundations additions, it's now possible to build a deck that steals all of your opponent's permanents (yes, lands too!) in Standard! Here's how![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Budget Magic: I Scorch Standard with $100 Budget Boros Burn --------------------------------------------------------------- 2BBurn-e53911f9-ce17-46e9-bb86-817cee2fe248%2Ejpg Thanks to Foundations, we can now build a deck that looks a lot like old-school Modern Burn, but in Standard and all on a $100 budget![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive --------------------------------------------------------------- [Tranquil Frillback](of+the+Machine+The+Aftermath/Tranquil+Frillback-showcase#paper) [Screaming Nemesis](House+of+Horror/Screaming+Nemesis#paper) [Thrumming Stone](Stone#paper) This week in Magic finance, the biggest gainer was the showcase version of [Tranquil Frillback (showcase)](of+the+Machine+The+Aftermath:Foil/Tranquil+Frillback-showcase#paper), which tripled up from $5 to $15. Looking at other showcase cards from March of the Machines, in general they only command a slight premium over their pack printings, which means that either the price of the [Tranquil Frillback (showcase)](of+the+Machine+The+Aftermath:Foil/Tranquil+Frillback-showcase#paper) showcase is an outlier or we're going to see the pack printing increase soon. Right now the pack printing is still around $8. To get in line with other March of the Machine showcase cards, an increase to $10 or $12 seems likely. If you need cheap copies to play with, this is the direction to look. Meanwhile in Standard, [Screaming Nemesis (prerelease)](House+of+Horror:Foil/Screaming+Nemesis-prerelease#paper) saw another massive gain this week, shooting up 63% to $33 after being as low as $9 after Duskmourn released a few weeks ago. Thanks to the printing of cards like [Boltwave]( and [Boros Charm](of+Thunder+Junction+Commander/Boros+Charm#paper) in Foundations, it seems that Burn is back in Standard and [Screaming Nemesis (prerelease)](House+of+Horror:Foil/Screaming+Nemesis-prerelease#paper) is an essential piece of the archetype thanks to its hasty damage and, more importantly, its ability to shut down lifegain. If you look at Standard mythics, they typically top out at between $30 and $35 (discounting [Sheoldred, the Apocalypse (showcase)](United/Sheoldred+the+Apocalypse-showcase#paper)), which suggests that it's unlikely that [Screaming Nemesis (prerelease)](House+of+Horror:Foil/Screaming+Nemesis-prerelease#paper) goes much higher, especially considering that it's only in 1% of Commander decks according to EDHRec. I'd feel safe selling extra copies now while prices are high. Finally, [Thrumming Stone](Masters+2022/Thrumming+Stone#paper) increased 51% this week to just over $14, likely thanks to [Hare Apparent](Apparent#paper). Before a Double Masters 2022 reprinting, [Thrumming Stone](Masters+2022/Thrumming+Stone#paper) peaked at $70 before falling all the way down to $3 upon reprinting. We've recently seen a huge increase in "you can play any number of these in your deck" cards, getting multiples a year when in the past we'd get one every few years. This makes me think that [Thrumming Stone](Masters+2022/Thrumming+Stone#paper) could be a good buy. Every time a new "you can play any number" card comes out, [Thrumming Stone](Masters+2022/Thrumming+Stone#paper) is the first card people buy to add to these decks. Until it gets reprinted again, it's likely to steadily keep increasing in price. While reaching its former highs of $70 again is unlikely, hitting $20 or $30 again in the next few years as Double Masters 2022 supply slowly dries up isn't out of the question. --------------------------------------------------------------- Weekly Update (Nov 17): We Play Marvel on Commander Clash --------------------------------------------------------------- This week in MTG news: We Play Marvel on Commander Clash.[Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Podcast 511: Koma is Good in Modern? --------------------------------------------------------------- The crew discusses the first week of Foundations, free cards on MTG Arena and more![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Single Scoop: We Have to Lose the Game to Win --------------------------------------------------------------- Demonic Pact is back and there are a ton of new tools to use to hand off all these terrible cards we've put in our deck![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Commander Clash Podcast 174: If We Were CEO of Magic: the Gathering --------------------------------------------------------------- Time to "fix" Magic: the Gathering![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- This Week in Legacy: Pre Eternal Weekend Metagame Check-In --------------------------------------------------------------- Joe Dyer takes a look at Legacy before Eternal Weekend![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Vintage 101: The Vintage Metagame Pre Eternal Weekend --------------------------------------------------------------- Joe Dyer looks at where Vintage is prior to Eternal Weekend![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Single Scoop: Azorius Flashing Angels --------------------------------------------------------------- Errant & Giada loves all the reprinted Angels and cards with Flash we can play with!
