Let's find out![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive --------------------------------------------------------------- [Leovold, Emissary of Trest](Take+the+Crown/Leovold+Emissary+of+Trest#paper) [Laughing Jasper Flint](of+Thunder+Junction/Laughing+Jasper+Flint#paper) [Kozilek's Return](of+the+Gatewatch/Kozileks+Return#paper) This week in Magic finance, the biggest gainer was [Leovold, Emissary of Trest](Masters/Leovold+Emissary+of+Trest#paper), which at least doubled in price (and in some cases tripled), with copies going from $7 to $20. Why would this fringe Legacy card that is banned in Commander and not legal in other formats spike? Well rumors have been flying about a new cEDH rules committee splintering cEDH from casual Commander and creating their own ban list, including unbanning Leovold. Rumors have also swirled that insiders who knew the card would be unbanned bought out the card. Whether any of this works or if the buyouts are even true is up for debate, but if you see some weird price spikes of banned Commander cards, this is the explanation. Meanwhile in Standard, [Laughing Jasper Flint (prerelease)](of+Thunder+Junction:Foil/Laughing+Jasper+Flint-prerelease#paper) gained 77% this week to over $4 thanks to Lizards where the three-drop has developed into a staple. I'd be surprised to see it climb much higher, which makes now a good time to sell extra copies. The bigger take away here is that paper Standard is back and having a meaningful impact on card prices. Finally in Modern, while Energy might be the best deck in the post-ban meta, Eldrazi seem to be the biggest winners. A bunch of pieces for Eldrazi decks increased this week. The biggest gainer was [Kozilek's Return](Horizons+3+Commander/Kozileks+Return#paper) which managed to double up to $4 even though it was just reprinted in a Commander deck. [Emrakul, the Promised End](Moon/Emrakul+the+Promised+End#paper), [Emrakul, the Aeons Torn](Masters+2022:Foil/Emrakul+the+Aeons+Torn#paper), [Trinisphere (Fallout Vault Boy)](Lair/Trinisphere-Fallout+Vault+Boy#paper), and [All Is Dust](Horizons+3+Commander/All+Is+Dust#paper) all posted meaningful gains as well. If you've got a bunch of extra Eldrazi around now seems like a fine time to sell - the cards are so iconic you know they'll be reprinted eventually - otherwise, if you want to build Eldrazi in Modern, expect to pay a premium. --------------------------------------------------------------- Commander Clash Podcast 163: Cutting Down to 100 Cards --------------------------------------------------------------- Tips and tricks to get your deck down to 100 cards.[Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Podcast 500: New Titans in Duskmourn --------------------------------------------------------------- The crew talks Duskmourn spoilers![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Single Scoop: Remember Obstinate Baloth?
