--------------------------------------------------------------- Budget Magic: 13-Rare Izzet Energy -

[MTGGoldfish][Magic Newsletter] [width="1"] --------------------------------------------------------------- I Bought Magic Packs from a Dollar Store... --------------------------------------------------------------- I bought Magic packs from a dollar store. Am I an idiot? Let's find out![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Budget Magic: 13-Rare Izzet Energy (MH3 Timeless) --------------------------------------------------------------- 2BBudget%2BIzzet%2BEnergy-527fe499-2bab-4d24-b500-44cb8a568b9b%2Ejpg We got a ton of new energy cards in Modern Horizons 3. Can we use them to make a competitive deck on just a 13-rare budget thanks to the power of Aether Revolt? Let's find out![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive --------------------------------------------------------------- [Soul Spike](Spike#paper) [Boom // Bust](Chaos/Boom+Bust#paper) [Ral, Monsoon Mage](Horizons+3/Ral+Monsoon+Mage#paper) This week in Magic finance, it's all about Modern Horizons 3 shaking up Modern. The biggest gainer of the week was [Soul Spike](Spike#paper) which shot up 426% to $24. If you want to see the card in action make sure to check out this week's [Against the Odds](, but the short version is that [Soul Spike](Spike#paper) works incredibly well with [Necrodominance](Horizons+3/Necrodominance#paper). You can spend all of your life on your end step to draw a bunch of cards and then exile some of them to free cast as many [Soul Spike](Spike#paper)s as you draw to gain back the life and possibly close out the game. While [Soul Spike](Spike#paper) is pretty scarce being a one-print rare from the unpopular Coldsnap set, this huge spike suggests a buyout and over the short term prices should come back down. I'd look to sell into the hype. Meanwhile [Boom // Bust](Spiral+Remastered/Boom+Bust#paper) is on the rise thanks to a new build of Boros in Modern that plays [Boom // Bust](Spiral+Remastered/Boom+Bust#paper) (up 421% to $9.60) alongside a bunch of new Modern Horizons 3 energy cards and [White Orchid Phantom (borderless)](Horizons+3/White+Orchid+Phantom-borderless#paper). Thanks to [Flagstones of Trokair](Spiral+Remastered/Flagstones+of+Trokair#paper), the deck can break the symmetry of the land destruction, making it a powerful turn-two play. Thankfully a Time Spiral Remastered reprinting should help keep the price from getting too far out of line, and if you want to save a few bucks, the Time Spiral Remastered foil is actually the cheapest printing at the moment, coming in around $7. Finally, it seems that Storm is back in Modern thanks to [Ral, Monsoon Mage](Horizons+3/Ral+Monsoon+Mage#paper) and [Ruby Medallion](Horizons+3:Foil/Ruby+Medallion#paper). Ral itself nearly doubled up in price this week to just under $29, while other key storm cards like [Pyretic Ritual](Booster+Retail+Edition+Foils:Foil/Pyretic+Ritual#paper) (up 198% to $10) are also on the rise. Just how good the deck is remains to be seen. While it seems consistent and powerful, the format hasn't really had to tech for Storm recently, which makes me wonder if its popularity will wane once people start playing more Storm hate in their sideboards. For now though, if you want to try Ruby Storm in Modern, expect to pay a premium. It's been one of the decks I've seen the most on Magic Online since the release of Modern Horizons 3. --------------------------------------------------------------- Commander Clash Podcast 151: Modern Horizons 3 MDFC Tier List --------------------------------------------------------------- We rank all the new MDFCs from Modern Horizons 3.[Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Single Scoop: Corgi Blade --------------------------------------------------------------- As a Corgi owner, TheAsianAvenger had to make a deck for Phelia!
