[MTGGoldfish][Magic Newsletter] [width="1"] --------------------------------------------------------------- Modern Horizons 3 Previews --------------------------------------------------------------- Horizons+3/Birthing+Ritual#paper Horizons+3/Nadu+Winged+Wisdom#paper Horizons+3/Ocelot+Pride#paper Horizons+3+Commander/Tarmogoyf+Nest#paper Horizons+3/Monumental+Henge#paper Horizons+3/Toxic+Deluge#paper Modern Horizons 3 preview season has officially wrapped up. We got the rest of the main set, as well as the four precon Commander decklists this week. Be sure to check them all out on www.mtgpreviews.com: - [Modern Horizons 3 Spoilers — May 25-27 | Fair Birthing Pod, Unfair Simic Legend and Recruiter]( - [Modern Horizons 3 Spoilers — May 28 | Last Mythics and Creative Energy Commander Precon!]( - [Modern Horizons 3 Spoilers — May 29 | Full Main Set, Eldrazi Precon and Simic Land Precon!]( - [Modern Horizons 3 Spoilers — May 30 | Classic Jund Precon Decklist and New Cards!]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Modern Horizons 3 Commander Decklists --------------------------------------------------------------- Here are the commander decklists from Modern Horizons 3.[Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive --------------------------------------------------------------- [Shuko](of+Kamigawa/Shuko#paper) [Eldrazi Temple](of+the+Eldrazi/Eldrazi+Temple#paper) [Sunken Citadel](Caverns+of+Ixalan/Sunken+Citadel#paper) This week in Magic finance, all the biggest news comes from the impending release of Modern Horizons 3. By far the biggest winner of the week was [Shuko](of+Kamigawa/Shuko#paper), with the one-mana equipment shooting up 163% to over $17 (and really it's more than that - just over a week ago [Shuko](of+Kamigawa/Shuko#paper) was under $3). One of the most hyped cards from Modern Horizons 3 is [Nadu, Winged Wisdom](Horizons+3:Foil/Nadu+Winged+Wisdom#paper), and [Shuko](of+Kamigawa/Shuko#paper) seems like the perfect way to combo off with the Bird Wizards thanks to its free equip cost. Once you get both on the battlefield you can simply move [Shuko](of+Kamigawa/Shuko#paper) from creature to creature to trigger [Nadu, Winged Wisdom](Horizons+3:Foil/Nadu+Winged+Wisdom#paper) to draw a bunch of cards and ramp. With some additional support - like a creature that makes tokens when a land enters the battlefield or a blink effect like [Ephemerate](Horizons/Ephemerate#paper) to reset [Nadu, Winged Wisdom](Horizons+3:Foil/Nadu+Winged+Wisdom#paper)'s "twice each turn" restriction, you should be able to go fully infinite and draw your entire deck. Personally I'd be looking to sell into the hype - even if the deck is good sooner or later [Shuko](of+Kamigawa/Shuko#paper) will be reprinted and as an uncommon, its price is likely to crash hard. Meanwhile it's been a good week to be an Eldrazi with a bunch of older tribe members seeing meaningful price increases thanks to all of the new support from Modern Horizons 3. Technically the biggest Eldrazi gainer was [Eldrazi Temple](Horizons+3+Commander/Eldrazi+Temple#paper) which more than doubled up to $20, although hilariously it was previewed on Friday in one of the MH3 Commander precons, so the price will likely come back down. Even outside of [Eldrazi Temple](Horizons+3+Commander/Eldrazi+Temple#paper), everything from [Thought-Knot Seer](List/Thought-Knot+Seer#paper) (up 36% to $8) to [Eldrazi Mimic](of+the+Gatewatch/Eldrazi+Mimic#paper) (up 38% to $3) and [Conduit of Ruin](for+Zendikar/Conduit+of+Ruin#paper) (up 12% to $6), along with a bunch more, saw a price increase this week. Finally [Sunken Citadel](Caverns+of+Ixalan:Foil/Sunken+Citadel#paper) nearly doubled up this week, gaining 72% to $5.50. We've talked many times before about how lands that make two-mana are usually broken and this includes lands that only make two-mana for activating the abilities of other lands. While [Sunken Citadel](Caverns+of+Ixalan:Foil/Sunken+Citadel#paper) has arguably been underrated since it was printed, the reason for its spike this week was [Shifting Woodland](Horizons+3:Foil/Shifting+Woodland#paper). Rated by many as one of the strongest cards in Modern Horizons 3, the clone land plays extremely well with [Sunken Citadel](Caverns+of+Ixalan:Foil/Sunken+Citadel#paper), essentially reducing its down down to three-mana. Long term [Sunken Citadel](Caverns+of+Ixalan:Foil/Sunken+Citadel#paper) is a card I want in my collection. As Wizards continues to print more and more strong utility lands, it just keeps getting better set by set. --------------------------------------------------------------- Weekly Update (May 26): Modern Horizons 3 Previews --------------------------------------------------------------- This week in MTG news: Modern Horizons 3 Previews.[Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Podcast 486: New Necropotence Sucks, Quote It --------------------------------------------------------------- The crew talks Modern Horizons 3 spoilers![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Commander Clash Podcast 149: The Biggest Mistakes You Can Make in Commander --------------------------------------------------------------- Don't make these mistakes in Commander![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Single Scoop: Oxen Token Aggro --------------------------------------------------------------- Bruse Tarl and his Oxen are coming to town![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- This Week in Legacy: Traversing the Horizon --------------------------------------------------------------- Joe Dyer dives into Modern Horizons 3 for Legacy![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Against the Odds: Another Round (Standard) --------------------------------------------------------------- What are the odds of winning by blinking our team a bunch of times with Another Round?
