Hi {NAME} Welcome to MSP Friday Flywheel, my weekly email to get your marketing wheel turning and make it go faster. Paul's musings: When to fire a bad client Back before I started working with MSPs in 2016, I ran a full service healthcare marketing agency. And after a few years where my sleep and general wellbeing was affected by a few negative people getting in my head, I created a Golden Rule. This was it: "If I wake up having negative thoughts about you three mornings in a row, I'm firing you as a client... regardless how much revenue you bring into the business". Then I acted on that rule and got rid of two bad clients in one week. From a cashflow point of view, that HURT. From a living my best life point of view... it was LIBERATING. And my staff LOVED IT. Because with two phone calls, I instantly removed 90% of their stress. And demonstrated that I was on their side above all else. Life's too short to tolerate idiots who are rude or cruel. You often find they act the same with other suppliers. And like all bullies they hate it when someone pushes back. One of the clients I fired told me to go F myself. Genuinely. What a loser. Don't be scared of that, though. Tell your bad client your businesses are no longer a good fit for each other, give them a few months notice (with a deadline so they take action) and be 110% professional in your offboarding. Oh, and never ever worry about the cash. I promise you new clean cash will soon turn up to replace the toxic cash you are declining. Hit reply and tell me if you have a bad client to fire. Last week I chatted to 11 MSPs who replied to this email. From the web: [How to write a viral LinkedIn post]( Doesn't everyone want this? There are some very cringeworthy posts in here to show you how NOT to do it. From my archive: [A new lead isn’t just for today… it has tons of value until one of these 3 things happens]( You'd be surprised how many MSPs miss out on new clients because they never follow-up with leads. Here's a follow-up system you can use [I can only work with one MSP per area. Is yours available?]( With my MSP Marketing Edge 3 step lead generation system, I only work with one MSP per area. This is so your marketing never clashes with a competitor. 30 day FREE trial, no contract, cancel any time. Hit reply with any questions - I personally reply to every email I get - and have a great weekend.
