Hi {NAME} Welcome to MSP Friday Flywheel, my email to get your marketing wheel turning and make it go faster. Paul's musings: I did a bad thing during our romantic dinner I did something bad. Last week, I was having a romantic dinner with my girlfriend. I'd cooked her favourite dish, selected a nice wine, candles, mood music - the works. Maximum effort. And we were having a lovely evening and a very good conversation when suddenly... it happened. An idea popped into my head for the end of day MSP marketing keynote I'll be delivering at [ScaleCon]( in Las Vegas this October. It was a very good idea. And - as she describes it - I mentally withdrew from the dining room for a few minutes. Apparently it's not good when your partner's eyes glaze over during a romantic meal! Luckily, she knows me well enough to have seen this before. When an idea comes into my head I have to instantly document it, or it will distract me for hours. This is because I have a very good productivity habit of writing down everything that arrives in my head. I rely on a productivity app called Todoist to run my entire life. Every task, thought and idea that pops into my head instantly goes into the Todoist inbox, so I can examine it and sort it later. If I'm driving I use Braintoss to send myself a voice note that's transcribed and goes into the inbox. Do you do this? If not, you really should. Emptying everything from your brain as a habit encourages a flow of new ideas and connections to be formed. It's hard to do that when you're hanging on to the previous idea. And it's better to interrupt dinner for 5 mins than not be mentally present for the whole thing, right? Perhaps I'm not such as bad boyfriend after all! From the web: The power of internal linking for SEO I'm not an expert at SEO, but two separate MSPs have told me in the last few weeks that they've seen better search engine positions by improving their internal linking.
