On Friday, Harris unveiled an [economic plan]( for her first 100 days in office, including policies for addressing the affordable housing crisis, instituting a child tax credit and more. Harris' running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, made his first solo trip after last week's [seven-state blitz]( with Harris. During a speech on Tuesday, Walz defended himself against [attacks from Republicans]( led by Ohio senator and fellow veteran JD Vance who attempted to smear Walz’s military record, [accusing him of “stolen valor.”]( Meanwhile, Vance gave a speech in Pennsylvania amid new controversy over remarks he made about abortion in 2021 and comments about “[postmenopausal females](.” Vance and Walz have agreed to participate in [a debate on Oct. 1](. Earlier this week, former [President Donald Trump]( participated in a conversation on X with Elon Musk that got off to a rocky start due to technical delays. It was the second plan to go a bit sideways for the billionaire this week, as the Texas judge whose court Musk appeared to seek out for his lawsuit against advertisers [recused himself from the case](. On Thursday, Trump held a [news conference]( in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he hurled attacks at Harris and appeared to [denigrate service members]( (once again), describing the civilian Medal of Freedom that he gave to Republican mega-donor Miriam Adelson as a “much better” version of the Medal of Honor.
