Meanwhile, Judge Aileen Cannon’s behavior in Trump’s classified documents case has [raised more concerns]( about her impartiality as she wasted more time with extraneous hearings over the constitutionality of Jack Smith's appointment as special counsel. At this week’s first presidential debate, hosted by CNN, the former president’s [avalanche of lies]( was overshadowed by Joe Biden’s performance, which some Democrats have described as [disappointing](, at best, and [disqualifying](, at worst. After a backlash over his alarmingly weak performance, the president worked to refute the criticism on Friday with a strong, energized performance on the campaign trail.
