One lesson we have to take to heart from 2016 is that we can't afford to be complacent about elections ever again. Dear MoveOn member, I want you to know, {NAME}, that if not for MoveOn members like you across the country, millions of people would have just lost their health care. We didn't stop Trumpcare because of people like me in Washington, D.C. We stopped it because of you, the people out on the front lines. The people at town hall meetings, sit-ins, and marches. The people who kept our Senate office phones ringing nonstop. The people who shared powerful personal stories. You've inspired me, and you've given me hope. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We'll remain vigilant on health care and fight the rest of Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell's cynical and heartless agenda. But we're also barreling toward next year's midterm elections—when we can take back our government from Donald Trump and his Republican enablers. The 2018 elections are about the very democracy we so often take for granted. They are the best chance we'll have to put a check on the Trump administration's daily madness. MoveOn is already hard at work building the groundwork across the country for a wave of progressive wins in next year's elections. The work is intensive and expensive—but powerfully important. And that's why I want to ask you, {NAME}, to chip in $3 to help jump-start this critical work, so that together we can take back the Congress and hold Republicans accountable. [I'm in! I’ll chip in now to help take back the Congress.]( I was incredibly grateful to earn MoveOn's endorsement this week, along with five of my progressive colleagues in the Senate. I'm taking nothing for granted in my re-election race in Massachusetts, and we'll need the support of MoveOn members like you to defeat the onslaught of right-wing attacks that have already begun. I know from experience how powerful MoveOn's support can be for a progressive candidate in a tough election. MoveOn members are some of the best-informed, most-dedicated, and hardest-working volunteers a campaign can ask for. The millions of grassroots small-dollar donations MoveOn raises each year help progressive candidates keep up with corporate candidates backed by right-wing billionaires like the Koch brothers. And with a massive reach online and in the media, MoveOn drives a powerful message about how progressive candidates are standing up for working families. It may seem that November 6, 2018, is still a long way off. It may seem that we're winning and that Republicans are divided. But one lesson we have to take to heart from 2016 is that we can't afford to be complacent about elections ever again. And we absolutely need to get started now. That's why I'm asking you to donate right now to help build MoveOn’s 2018 election work. Can you chip in $3 now? [Yes, I'll chip in now to help take back the Congress.]( Thanks for all you do. –Senator Elizabeth Warren Want to support MoveOn's work? The MoveOn community will work every moment, day by day and year by year, to resist Trump's agenda, contain the damage, defeat hate with love, and begin the process of swinging the nation's pendulum back toward sanity, decency, and the kind of future that we must never give up on. And to do it MoveOn needs your support, now more than ever. Will you stand with MoveOn?
