After an outpouring of support from MoveOn members, we're taking our campaign up a notch and adding an important new component to the Banned Bookmobile: voter registration. Everywhere we go—and at every stop we make—we will be making sure people have the information they need to register to vote and then we will work to ensure they cast their ballots against far-right Republicans in 2024. Titles we will carry include "The 1619 Project: Born on the Water," a children's picture book that confronts the horrors of American slavery in an age-appropriate manner and "Maus," which recounts one family's escape from a Nazi concentration camp. We will also carry the most banned book in the nation: "Gender Queer: A Memoir," a graphic novel about nonbinary author Maia Kobabe's journey toward self-discovery.1 And now, with your help, we are adding one more thing that the far right despises: making sure that people have the information they need to register to vote.
