A damning new report shows Clarence Thomas has been secretly accepting gifts worth millions of dollars from a right-wing megadonor in violation of public trust. He must resign or be impeached!]( Dear MoveOn member, BREAKING NEWS: Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas sold property to right-wing megadonor Harlan Crow—and never disclosed this transaction. A new report shows Thomas's signature on the sale, yet he never reported this in his financial disclosures.1  It gets even more unbelievable and outrageous: Thomas's mother still lives in the house Thomas sold to Crow.2 That's right: the mother of a Supreme Court justice lives in a home owned by a billionaire right-wing activist who has long lavished Thomas with gifts while also supporting causes at the heart of cases heard by the court.  This comes after the blockbuster report that Thomas has accepted gifts worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in value from Crow over the years—and never once listed these in his regular financial disclosures.3 All of this simply adds to what we know about the corrupt and compromised history of this unfit Supreme Court justice.  We already knew that Thomas has abused his position—from refusing to recuse himself from cases regarding his wife's involvement in the attempt to overturn the 2020 election to crusading on behalf of his right-wing allies to overturn abortion access and so much more. [That's why 1.2 million MoveOn members have already called for Thomas to resign or be impeached.](  After last week's report, Thomas claimed he was never advised to disclose the gifts.4 Yesterday's revelations of his business dealings add another level of deceit, mendacity, and abuse. Meanwhile, Thomas intends to continue to hear cases that directly conflict with his personal and business interests, to the shame of a court that has already lost its credibility in the eyes of the American people.  It's time for elected officials to speak out and take action: [Justice Clarence Thomas must resign from the Supreme Court immediately or else be impeached.]( Clarence Thomas should resign immediately or else be impeached. [Sign the petition]( Last year, it became clear that Ginni Thomas had been actively urging the White House to overturn election results, both leading up to January 6 and after the deadly insurrection.5  Clarence Thomas's failure to recuse himself warrants immediate investigation and heightened alarm. And it's only the latest in a long history of conflicts of interest in the service of a right-wing agenda and of mixing his powerful role with his conservative political activism. He has shown he cannot be an impartial justice and is more concerned with covering up his wife's coup attempts than the health of the Supreme Court.  He uses his position on the Supreme Court to pursue right-wing crusades—joining the ruling that overturned Roe and stripped away abortion rights; writing the decision to undermine sensible gun laws; targeting LGBTQ+ equality and workers' rights; and more.  And while he carries this right-wing agenda, he accepts hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts from a right-wing megadonor.  Ever since his confirmation hearings more than 30 years ago, the public has questioned Thomas's ethics and behavior. His abuse of power, his conflicts of interest, and his secrecy about his financial and political ties make him unfit to serve.  Eventually, we need to expand and rebalance the court, to pull it back from the right-wing takeover enabled by Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell's court-packing efforts. And we need a real, enforceable code of ethics for all justices.  For now, it's clear: Thomas must go.
