If you’d told me that Fernando Alonso would be ending his Formula 1 career just as Robert Kubica appears to be restarting his, I’m not sure I’d have believed you until recently. It’s strange how things work out and, before Kubica’s world turned upside down in 2011 with his rally crash, there was a chance they were going to be teammates at Ferrari. Fast-forward to now, and Alonso will be cherry-picking his events outside F1 – starting with a NASCAR test in Bahrain on Monday! Meanwhile, a lot has changed in F1 since Kubica’s skills last wowed us in a grand prix. It will be great to have him back.
