The MoJo Daily newsletter, Monday through Friday. [View in browser]( [Mother Jones Daily Newsletter](     October 11, 2023 George Santos has had quite a prolific first year in Congress. Prolific, that is, if you count the multiple rounds of indictments that have now hit the disgraced New York Republican. On Tuesday, federal prosecutors announced [10 new counts against Santos]( that included more counts of wire fraud, identity theft, and campaign finance violations. Some related to the [fake-donor scheme]( my colleagues David Corn and Noah Lanard first reported earlier this year. These latest charges add to the 13 charges Santos was hit with in May, prompting House Democrats to move to expel him. That motion failed. But today, a [group of New York lawmakers]( are leading a new effort, and critically, a GOP effort, to do the same. We'll see how things shake out with Santos, who is [vowing to fight]( this latest batch of criminal charges. But a word of advice about lying to the federal government?
