Also, a show we watched + a free cleaning checklist for you! Hi, Friend! This year, I’ve walked through deep heartache and heartbreak. Maybe someday I’ll be able to share more, but that’s all I can say right now. Showing up online and in my everyday life has been a challenge many days. I know so many of you can relate. I know many of you are carrying deep burdens that almost no one else knows about. Deep heartache that feels like it might suffocate you some days. Sadness. Loss. Loneliness. If that is you, I just want you to know I see you. You are not alone. And I acknowledge how deeply your heart is breaking right now. Picture me sitting with you quietly. I don’t need to know the details. But I’m *with* you and I care. And more than that, God hasn’t forgotten you or forsaken you. He might feel distant. It might feel overwhelming. But He sees you. He knows your deepest pain. He feels your hurt and the depths of sorrow you are experiencing. One of my favorite names of Jesus is Emmanuel. It means “God with us.” He didn’t have to leave the grandeur of heaven to come to earth. But He did. He didn’t come to earth because we deserve it or did anything to earn it. But because He loves us. Because He is Emmanuel. God with us. If your heart is breaking this Christmas season, invite Emmanuel to come sit with you in your sorrow. Share your deepest struggles. Your worries. Your stresses. Your anger. Your angst. You don’t need to sanitize your prayers. Talk to God as if He were your best friend. As if He knows everything about you and still chooses to love you. As if there is nothing you could do that would cause Him to walk away or stop loving you. Because that’s Who Emmanuel is. That’s what the Christmas story is. He sees you. He hears you. He has not forgotten you. He is with you. And this Christmas, I’m clinging to Emmanuel more than ever. I’m holding onto hope knowing that I am not alone. That God is *with* me, even in the heartache and heartbreak. Jesse and I watched [Tsunami: Race Against Time]( this week. While I remember the earthquake and tsunami, this documentary shares the real stories and footage from that horrific day. It is moving and shocking and very well put together. Recommended.
