I almost said no and missed this... (A story to encourage you + a movie we loved!)

Some fun pictures and freebies! Hi, Friend! Kierstyn invited me to have a tea party with her this morning. And I'll be honest... my first instinct was to say no. It felt like there was so much to do today and we were going to be gone half the day. I needed to get my morning work done and get everyone ready to head out the door. But I felt that still small voice of the Holy Spirit reminding me that sitting to have tea with my daughter for a bit was way more important work than anything on my list. And so, I said yes. And you guys... Just look at her face!! She made my cup of tea for me — yes, as you can see, the process was a bit messy, but the joy I saw her experiencing far overshadowed a bit of a mess. We sat there and drank tea and she asked me, "how was your day?" And I marveled in the gift that she is. Micah joined us for part of it. It was just what my soul needed. A quiet reminder to slow down, to set aside my to do's, and to savor the beauty and gifts in front of me. And we still got out the door on time and actually got to basketball early! (Today was Silas' first basketball game! I'm excited for basketball season to be here!) It was a BIG week here! Kathrynne got to vote for the first time! Some of you know that she is currently working remotely for a nonprofit in DC and so she's gotten to be involved in important behind-the-scenes things regarding the election (which has been so cool!) and I'm so proud of how much she's poured into things and the passion she has to make a difference!
