The company last night announced a $1 billion offering on convertible senior notes, sending the shares 13% lower before the open. - Digital World Acquisition (DWAC): Make-believe stock DWAC could be in focus today after Donald Trump announced he's again running for president in 2024. - Target (TGT): TGT shares are being targeted by sellers this morning, after the company became the latest to issue a soft holiday-quarter outlook, along with weak numbers for the previous period. The stock was last seen down more than 12% this morning. - Advance Auto Parts (AAP): The auto parts retailer is another huge loser before the open, as the stock drops on a mixed quarterly report. The shares are trading down 14%, after recently being rejected by their 200-day moving average. In other markets news... Scanning the headlines this morning, I noticed the Wall Street Journal ran a story about the surge in diesel prices. I have seen a few stories like this recently, but as always the mainstream news is behind the curve. The Wall Street Journal notes that diesel is now at a record premium over gasoline and crude oil. But while the WSJ and the rest of the financial media has been late to this extremely important story, this is a financial situation that's going to be with us for a while, impacting all aspects of the economy and stock market. As I have talked about several times now, diesel is the most important input for our economy. That is why I'm basing so much of my trading and analysis around this rise in prices.
