Greetings from Serenity Island...
I want to talk to you today about a really important lesson, because lately I've noticed a lot of business owners are not getting this.
[See more photos of Serenity Island on my instagram](41475b/ct5_0/1?sid=TV2%3AIjvipqisZ)Contrary to what youâll hear from the âsomething for nothingâ crowd, real success does actually require a lot of hard work. In my case, the results I've achieved is far more due to grinding it out daily, then to intelligence, talent, natural ability, etc.
That doesn't mean the work has to be unpleasant of course - most top achieving entrepreneurs love their work - but it is usually hard work nonetheless.
Unfortunately, there's this big movement being taught in succes books that all you have to do is think positive thoughts and everything will come to you automatically. Wealth. Happiness. Sunshine. And Rainbows. Everything good in life.
Being generally optimistic is important.
But in addition to having a positive attitude, you must have a realistic attitude toward work. People will tell you to think positive and youâll get positive results. But they forget to mention that you need a positive attitude and a solid work ethic.
Itâs easy to understand why the âeasyâ message sells much better than the âwork hardâ one. Who doesnât want to take the easiest path? We all do.
Henry David Thoreau once said, âThe cost of anything is measured by the amount of life you're willing to exchange for it.â If you want to really be successful in your business, there's no easy, simple way to do it. There are systems and shortcuts that can automate the process.
But the people who have paid the largest price, in terms of the sacrifice, the commitment, the dedication, the hours they've put into their enterprises... those entrepreneurs are the people who are likely to ultimately experience the success they claim to be seeking.

He went to a Mercedes dealer to pick up a new Mercedes and one of the first things he told them was, âI want you to take the radio out of it.â
Puzzled as to why Bill Gates would want to remove the radio from his brand new car, they asked him why. He had them remove the radio simply because he didn't want any distractions. While he would drive to and from his office, he wanted to stay focused on his work.
That's certainly an extreme example, but it represents a man who was totally into his vision. He didn't want anything to get in the way of his focus on his business goals.
Look, if you really want to make a lot of money, you canât just have a positive attitude. You'll have to focus on and work hard in your business, just like Bill Gates. U.S. President Abraham Lincoln once put it, âGood things come to those who wait, but only what's left over from those who hustle.â
Itâs true. So get out there and hustle to make your business everything you want it to be.

The Reason People Give Up Too Soon
If you know how to make $50, you can make $100. If you can make $100, you can make $1,000 and so on.
Unfortunately, it's usually when people are just about to succeed that they give up.
For example, they've made a couple of small sales for a total of $50, and they consider it a failure because it's so measly. And they never go on to make the $100 or the $1,000.

Putting Empathy Into Your Marketing
The greatest marketers are empaths. They know the emotions of their customers better than even the customers themselves do.
Then, they're able to craft the language of their marketing in a way that plays on these emotions. By doing this, they maximize their customers' happiness, as well as meeting their own business goals.
The more you feel empathy for your customers, the better marketer you'll be.
