Hey,
Those of us who write sales copy are true modern-day alchemists. We transform ordinary paper, ink, and blank web pages into something far more precious than gold. We create actual wealth out of thin air. We will it into existence with our knowledge and craftsmanship. We suck money out of the marketplace and into our bank accounts.
If your marketplace is big enough, there are millions of dollars out there waiting for you right now. All you have to do is find a way to convince a very small percentage of the millions of people in your market that the products or services youâre offering are worth far more than the money youâre asking for them to give you in exchange. Itâs not easyâbut it is simple.
If you start with a big enough group of people who have a strong enough desire for the types of products and services you sell, and if what youâre offering them can give them more of what theyâre searching for the most, and you can find a way to do it profitably, then the question is not, âWill I get rich?â the only question is âHow rich will I get, and how long will it take me?â
Good, honest direct response copywriting, where the words you write (or verbally communicate to your audience) fan the fires of their desires, exciting them enough to give you more of their money. This is a skill that you can develop, given sufficient time and practice.
You can become a real-life alchemist.
Remember your history lessons in school; the original alchemists in the Middle Ages were looking for a way to turn ordinary lead into precious gold. Little did they know that the only way to actually make that happen is in a nuclear reactor! The early alchemists were actually the first chemists.
Well, as a direct response marketing copywriter, youâre doing something similar, except your âbase materialsâ are paper, ink, a blank web page, perhaps, and your imagination. Words are power. In fact, theyâre the only real magic youâll ever be able to tap into in this lifetime.
Study everything about copywriting that you possibly can. Make a decision that youâre going to develop this skillâand realize above all that this is a skill, and that you can learn it. The very best copywriters have the ability to write a profitable sales letter in as little as a few days. Imagine that kind of power. Imagine being able to inspire thousands of people to pull out their credit cards and authorize you to charge whatever amount of money youâre asking for, because they read your sales copy and theyâre convinced they canât live without your product or service.
Thatâs the power that the alchemists could only dream of. But itâs a power that the worldâs greatest copywriters wield. The words we write, or that we speak on an audio or video presentation, have a fantastic ability to influence the people within our marketplace to transfer money from their bank accounts into ours.
This is a skill that can make you rich, which means itâs worth learning how to do. It may take you a lot of time and sacrifice to truly master the skill, but itâs worth all the time and effortâbecause once youâve mastered it, it can make you a millionaire. You really can become a modern-day alchemist.
