Scroll down for the answer... --------------------------------------------------------------- COLOR HISTORY From Toxic to Eco-Friendly â The Story of the Color Green The color green has a volatile history with many ups and downs. Hereâs a crash course into the world of green through the ages: ð¿Positive Beginnings: In history, green symbolized youth, fertility, and paradise for Muslims. Ancient Egyptians associated it with health and vitality, while Ancient Romans adored it for its soothing properties. ðGreen for Luck: During the Middle Ages, green represented luck and love. Women wore it for marriage, and pregnant women embraced its fertility symbolism. ðGreen Takes a Turn: By the end of the Middle Ages, green started being associated with the devil, snakes, and jealousy. Soon the color evoked fear and disgust, worsened by Crusade tensions. ð¢Renaissance Rebirth: The Enlightenment era brought a softer view of green, but its true resurgence came with Romanticism. Schweinfurt green, though toxic, became fashionable, despite its deadly nature. ð¤¢Toxic Trails: Toxic green arsenic paint, popular in Napoleon's time, led to health hazards. Its poisonous effects tainted Green's reputation. ðModern Resurgence: Despite its toxic past, green made a comeback, notably in children's toys post-World War I. Babar the Elephant's popularity in the 1930s made green popular again. Go Deeper: - â[The Riveting History of the Color Green - ShutterStock]()â

--------------------------------------------------------------- TRIVIA ANSWER Malachite was historically used as a natural substance to create green pigment in art before synthetic alternatives. Malachite, a form of copper carbonate hydroxide, was ground into a fine powder and mixed with a binding agent to produce a vivid green color. When this proved to be too expensive and prone to darkening over time, ancient Romans created verdigris by soaking copper plates in wine.
