Introducing Galaxy’s New MongoDB Hosting

Hey there! Since becoming CEO of Meteor Software in 2022, my focus has been on Meteor.js 3. Our team and I have put a lot of effort into building and releasing the most relevant Meteor.js version of its recent history. A big part of what made Meteor great was Fibers: a key concept for handling asynchronous code as if it were synchronous, making the code easier to write and read. However, Fibers became a limiting factor as it was not compatible with newer versions of Node.js, particularly from version 16 onwards. In the beginning, removing Fibers from the framework seemed very difficult. In fact, it was hard. During the past 3 years, we planned, coded, and had many discussions with the community to figure out what would be the best way of handling this. In this process, we've broken (and fixed) a good amount of stuff. But at the end of July 2024, we made it. Meteor 3 has been released!
