[Messy Nessy Chic]

Â
Itâs been a difficult week at the HQ here in Paris, where the last time I sat writing to you, I could see the tip of the Notre Dameâs spire from the windows.
But of course, beautiful stories and small miracles often come out of tragedy and today, I bring some very [uplifting news from Notre Dame by way of its courageous rooftop honeybees](. And I think youâll find this will brighten up your day.Â
Earlier this week, I also shared some of the ideas that have helped occupy my mind in the aftermath, including Franceâs beautiful back-up plan and a little-known sites to visit while we wait for Notre Dame to rise again. Â
In other (good) news, MessyNessyChicâs next book finally heading off to the printers next week, so Iâve prepared a special sneak peek at Donât be a Tourist in New York with a selection of [New York Collectorâs Addresses]( plucked straight from the manuscript (for a Keyholderâs eyes only).Â
Weâve already started planning our book launch party at a very special location in New York this July, so make sure youâre [in-the-know]( when it comes time to send out invitations.Â
In the meantime, donât forget, Iâm hosting the first [Café Philosophique with Messy Nessy Chic]( next week at my local café on Parisâ Left Bank.Â
We have much to discuss, so if youâre in town, I hope to see you there. Â
Adieu for now,
[Nessy]Â Â

Weâve got an achilles heel for places stuck in the past, and today on our armchair adventures, weâre stopping off in the sleepy streets of Japanâs cinematic post towns, known locally as Shukuba (å®¿å ´). What is a post town, you ask? Essentially itâs a pit-stop, albeit a very charming one lost in time, which poppedâ¦

I wish I had taken your picture a thousand more times, my beautiful neighbour. For all the history lovers, architecture lovers (who feel that buildings have souls), Paris lovers: we are all no doubt feeling the same helplessness and sadness for Notre Dame. I think of the artisans who have spent the last decade tirelesslyâ¦
