I finally said goodbye to Pinterest last month. Cut off my tailwind subscription... Stopped my Pinterest management... I’ll still be sharing new content to my boards whenever I publish something. But what I’ll not be doing is repinning content or scheduling pins regularly via tailwind or any other scheduler. I’m in no way saying that this should be a decision you contemplate. Neither am I sharing this to push you in this direction. Pinterest has served me well. It’s more a search engine than anything else. And in line with choosing 'search over social', it was a huge part of my business especially in the early years. In the last 3 years though the platform has been finicky and painful to navigate with all its changes and hardly any results to show. I was starting to wonder if I was staying because I had already invested so much into it. 2 things to consider: Sunk Fallacy Cost - Are you sticking with something because you’ve already invested not just money but time and energy into it? This definitely sounded like the relationship I had with Pinterest. Opportunity cost - Could you put the funds, time and energy you're investing into a tool or strategy into a better alternative? When it came to Pinterest, the answer was a resounding YES. Weighing all the factors, it just didn't make sense to continue staying on the platform. Whatever it is that you’re spending time, energy and money on, think about whether it’s still serving you. Or are you hanging on because it’s the only way you know how and you’ve never explored any other alternative? You would know what this is for you. It's that ONE thing that's been gnawing at you for some time... That you secretly hope and wish you could quit or do less of. Whatever this is that pops into your mind, think about the opportunity cost. Most importantly, are you enjoying it? Willing to share what that is? Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
