Hi there. we have an important update about your MNT account  [Medical News Today logo]( Hi there. After over a decade, we would like to announce that effective April 12th 2019, we will be removing account services and management functionality from Medical News Today. Your newsletter preferences will be saved, and you will continue to receive your current free newsletter subscription. We introduced free MNT accounts in 2008 as a way of allowing you to create a custom homepage for specific news and health topics on our website, giving you the option to filter the homepage to show only the content most relevant to you. While we still have a number of readers using this service, they represent less than one tenth of 1 percent of our total monthly readership. After considering this change for some time, we feel that the resources currently spent to maintain and upgrade this service are better used to continue building out a better, faster, and more secure MNT. From April 12th 2019, you will no longer be able to register a new account or sign in to your current account. If you would like to make any changes to your newsletter subscription, you will be able to do so using the “[Update preferences](” link provided at the foot of your daily or weekly newsletters (and this one). Any personal data you previously entered when creating your MNT account (name, profession type, and country) will be securely archived by MNT pursuant to our [privacy policy and data retention requirements](. In compliance with the European Union’s GDPR policy, you may request a copy of the data we store pertaining to your MNT account and usage. You may also request deletion of this data [here](. Thank you for being part of MNT's journey so far. Whether you have been a reader for just a few months or have been a daily reader for the past 15+ years, we appreciate your support. You have helped to make MNT one of the most visited resources for trustworthy health and medical news on the internet today. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
