For those who are new here [Mannion for New York]( Hi {NAME}, I realize we may have some new folks after the primary, and I wanted to formally introduce myself and talk about why I am running for Congress. ([If you are in a rush, but want to contribute to my campaign, you can chip in here!]( I have had the honor of serving the good people of Central New York in the State Senate, but I still consider myself to be a teacher. For almost 30 years, I loved teaching high school science at West Genesee. In fact, leaving a job I love and the safe confines of the classroom was the hardest part about running for office. But I knew I needed to be a part of the solution. I was seeing changes to the public education system that were devastating the teacher recruitment process and limiting students' ability to learn. On top of that, I saw how confused and disheartened my students felt after the 2016 Presidential Election. I knew we had to bring civility back to government. [CHIP IN]( In the State Senate, I led the fight to pass the Green Chips legislation, bringing 50,000 new high paying jobs to Syracuse. I helped Middle Class families save money through tax cuts, made our airport safer by creating the first new police department in New York in half a century, and, together, we passed laws to protect a woman’s right to make her own personal health care decisions. {NAME}, I love Central New York. This is my home. We need a Representative in Congress who will deliver for Central New York and Mohawk Valley. [I am going to need your help to get me there.]( If you’ve stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process immediately.
