[Maganomics Daily]( Top Stories From the Breitbart News Desk It will not come as a shock to Maganomics Daily readers that negotiations over a new COVID relief package have hit a wall. The political dynamics in Washington, D.C., have changed somewhat since this summer – but probably not enough to make reaching a bipartisan agreement on aid likely. Nancy Pelosi doesn’t have to worry about a strengthening economy boosting Trump’s electoral chances, but few Democrats are in the mood to send Trump a bill he can claim as a major accomplishment. Mitch McConnell has shown a tremendous amount of flexibility about what he wants to see in a COVID relief bill – only to be repeatedly stiff-armed by Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. It’s not impossible that something passable in the House and Senate will emerge in the next couple of weeks. But the most probable outcome is that no aid bill passes until after Inauguration Day. The FTC and several states yesterday announced an antitrust action against Facebook. The lawsuits target two of Facebook’s major acquisitions, Instagram and WhatsApp, and accuse the company of behaving anticompetitively. This is not unrelated to the complaints that Facebook censors conservative viewpoints. Hurting your users is very typical monopolistic behavior. If there were a truly competitive social media environment, Facebook would likely be more hesitant to anger conservatives. [How To Live Your Best Life]( The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey data for October shows the labor market was even stronger than it looked in the weeks leading up to the election, undermining the mainstream media and Democrat claims that Trump’s handling of the pandemic had hurt the U.S. economy. In particular, job openings at manufacturing firms hit their highest monthly level on record. The relative strength of U.S. factories in the midst of the pandemic likely reflects the pro-manufacturing environment the Trump administration created over the past four years. The overall numbers were less impressive, showing only a slight boost in hires and openings and a larger boost in layoffs. But the layoffs number was elevated because the government was unwinding the Census workforce. – Alex Marlow, Breitbart News Network --------------------------------------------------------------- TOP STORY [image]( [Manufacturing Job Openings Hit Record High in October]( Job openings in American factories hit their highest level ever in October, according to data released Wednesday by the Department of Labor. Manufacturing businesses were looking to hire workers for a seasonally adjusted 525,000 positions in October, up from 492,000 a month earlier. That beat the record high of 502,000 set in November 2018. Openings expanded in both durable and nondurable goods manufacturing.
