Bibimguksu mixed noodles 🍜 & spicy cod fillets 🐟! Plus photos and comments from my readers and viewers [View online]( [Maangchi's letter] Hi everybody! You might notice in my recent videos that I’ve been showing you how to set a full Korean table with the dish featured in the video. I want to give you an idea of how to set your own Korean table, what kinds of side dishes go well together, and how to eat them. The photo below was captured from my [most recent video “spicy cod fillet!”]( Check it out, boom boom! : ) New recipe: Bibim-guksu [Bibim-guksu]( Bibim-guksu This [bibim-guksu]((cold spicy noodles: 비빔국수) is a really quick and delicious recipe made with well-fermented kimchi. It’s one of my favorites so I make it often, because it takes just a few minutes to put together. If I don’t have it for a while, I develop a strong craving for it! Check out [the recipe here](. New recipe: Spicy cod fillets [Spicy cod fillets]( Spicy cod fillets These [spicy cod fillets]( (daegusal-jorim: 대구살조림) are also simple, fast, easy, and delicious with an amazing soft and juicy texture! I originally developed this recipe for people who aren’t comfortable eating fish with bones, but it soon became one of my favorite quick recipes at home. You know what I’m saying? : ) Frozen cod fillets are always in my freezer these days. You can enjoy the soft, flaky, and flavorful cod without worrying about picking out any fish bones at all. You can also use different white flesh fish fillets such as pollock, haddock, flounder, or snapper. Check out [the recipe here](. [Carrie Hartzell]( [Carrie Hartzell]( [@vvitchykitchen]( I love @[maangchi]( Korean cooking on YouTube, so often she makes something that looks so mouthwatering that I have to try it right away - today it’s bibim-gukso, spicy noodles 😍 [( [12:39 PM - 8 Apr 2022]( [Dr. Literature_Lady 💌📚📜🎙]( [Dr. Literature_Lady 💌📚📜🎙]( [@Literature_Lady]( We tried @[maangchi]( 's Spicy Cod Fillets Daegusal-jorim 대구살조림 recipe tonight. (Recipe link below) [( [5:29 PM - 30 Apr 2022]( She made it her own 1 bowl meal by adding it over rice! I agree with her, “super fast and easy”! Yup, cooking time takes only 13 minutes! Gimbap made by mickey [Mickeystew]( made this and says, “Tastes just like the real deal!” Yes, the colorful fillings are right in the center and the rice looks firm. Well rolled! 👏 Check out [the recipe here](. Yuringi (pepper chicken) [1001stars06]( made [pepper chicken (Yuringi]()! Dbertovi's Soybean paste stew with beef [Beef doenjang-jjigae] Beef doenjang-jjigae [Dbertovi]( living in Croatia made this [doenjang-jjigae]( and says, “Extra! Just like I remember from my trips to Korea.” I’m feeling a sudden craving for hotteok now, so I’ll make it this afternoon. Thanks, lily.anne! You inspired me to make hotteok today! : ) [The recipe is here](! Messages from my readers & viewers My readers and viewers always make me smile, inspire me, amaze me, and make me think. Here are some of their messages that I chose to share with you! In my spicy cod fillets video, I said, “add this amount, maybe my hand-sized piece of kelp.” As I was editing the video, I knew someone would probably ask me about this. Voila! When I read [Daniel’s comment](, I laughed loudly! It’s so fun reading your comments. I don’t think my hand is the same size as Maangchi’s. My reader Ankita, whose father suffered from a massive heart attack, asked me if she could make a vegetarian version of my [beef and vegetable porridge](. I felt very touched by her love for her father and it reminded me of my late father, who loved the porridge I made for him, too. I replied to her and I think my answer is good to share with all of you: Actually you can skip the beef in the recipe to make a vegetarian version. And also if you like to make the porridge more savory, add vegetable stock instead of water. My homemade vegetable stock recipe is here. ( Do you have a Korean boyfriend or girlfriend? If you want to impress him or her, make [miyeokguk]( (seaweed soup) for them on their birthday! [Mint_student](living in Europe has a Korean boyfriend. She’s planning to make miyeokguk on his birthday. What a great idea! I’m sure he will love her at least 1 kilogram more than before (if it can be measured)! : ) Its my boyfriends birthday next month and I really want to try cooking that. He moved to my country (in europe) 6 months ago and is homesick sometimes. I wanna make him feel happy. I’m sure many of you watch my videos together with your moms and maybe even cook together afterwards. This makes all your family members my precious readers and viewers. So when I am told that someone’s mom has passed, I feel it deeply. I think you feel the same way. [Lenny left a touching comment](: Your cooking and stories bring me comfort, I lost my mama 9/20. It brings me comfort watching your videos. We used to watch and try the recipes. Thank you.. Maangchi for bringing me comfort. What's the white stuff on it? My reader [luhwren](is making Korean traditional [fermented soybean paste (doenjang) and soy sauce (guk-ganjang)]( these days. She put her dried meju blocks in salty water in an earthenware crock (onggi) and waited for them to ferment. But over time she found some white stuff on the surface of the crock, so she asked me what it was. It’s actually never happened to me, so I had to look it up and call my mom and a few more people. It turns out to be just salt! An onggi has microscopic holes that allow gases to pass in and out, and in this case some salt came out as well. It proves that the onggi breathes very well and is good quality. See you next time! I will see you next month on June 1st! Keep being happy with your delicious Korean cooking! And remember that if you type any Korean dish into the search box on my website, you can find it (if I have a recipe for it). I use the search box all the time because that’s the fastest way to find the recipe among my hundreds of recipes. Love, Maangchi ❤️ Did you enjoy this issue?
