Plus my super-frugal spicy braised potatoes recipe. Sounds delicious!  [View in browser](   [[]   It's March!  Happy Lunar New Year! Last month was Lunar New Year on Feb 16th, and there were fireworks over the river here in New York. I took this photo from my house. What did I do on Lunar New Year's Day? Of course I made [rice cake soup](! So officially I made rice cake soup twice on Jan.1 and Feb.16 so far this year and unofficially a few more times from January to now.     [New Recipe: Korean-style Roasted Chicken](  Before fried chicken came to Korea, rotisserie roasted whole chickens like this Tongdak-gui (통닭구이) were very popular. This is my recipe with my own soft, creamy cream cheese dipping sauce. My family loves it!  [Justooon said:]( "Amazing videos! I made this for dinner tonight and cannot believe how good the dipping sauce is!"   [Full recipe and video!](   [M](om's Birthday Dinner  Birthday party with roasted chicken! Bonnie sent me this photo of the roasted chicken her husband made for her birthday. Her daughter Clea is so happy right before eating the chicken! It looks like a good party, with nice dipping sauce, too! Hi, Clea, can I borrow your jacket for my video? ; ) This photo made me feel warm and happy! The whole family got involved with this 1 photo. Dad made this table for mom, mom took this photo and shared with me, and the daughter is full of smiles! Yes, it's such a happy family!    [New Recipe: Pickled Radish](  This is one of my "too easy" recipes. What else goes well with chicken? For Koreans, it's radish pickle called [chicken-mu (치킨무)](. Tiny cold radish cubes, pickled in sweet, sour, and just a little salty brine are very refreshing when paired with super crispy Korean fried or roasted chicken.   [Make chicken-mu!](   [New Recipe: My Frugal Spicy Braised Potatoes](  [This spicy braised potato side dish]( is very simple and something you can make quickly with only a few ingredients. You'll be surprised at how delicious it is, with such little work and so affordable!  I shared my personal story of how I came up with this recipe in the video. It looks so simple but many of my old memories are melted in the dish.   [Make Spicy Braised Potatoes!](   [So Fast!](  My reader [impalastar]( made these spicy braised potatoes right after I uploaded the video, but she used sweet potato instead of potato. [She posted on Twitter]( and said:  "I had everything to try it first thing! I only have sweet potatoes but was still so good!!"    Real gem is Alex!  Catherine shared this photo!  When I saw this photo, first, I was suprised by the gorgeous looking [jjajangmyeon](. The sauce looks perfectly made and the presentation is so clean and clear! Then I found a real gem on the top of this photo! Alex, who is 10 years old and he loves his mom's Korean dishes! Then I guessed "Hmm~ 4 bowls of Jjajangmyeon? 4 family members!"  See you someday, Alex!    [Alina's VeganÂ]([Kimchi Hot Dog]([Â](  Alina, living in Sweden went camping with her boyfriend. She decided to make kimchi hot dogs on the campfire. She prepared all these ingredients and gadgets to make just hot dogs!  Some people may think "Oh, that's too much work! Why doesn't she make a sandwich!?"  But who's Alina! She's like me! We don't care about working hard to get a delicious dish wherever we go. Look at this sizzling kimchi hot dog cooked over a wood fire! Don't forget to read [her story on my website](. Especially the last line made me so excited and I really wish I could have been there!   [Make your own kimchi hotdog](   [Dana's Danmuji](  Check out this homemade [yellow pickled radish](! My reader [Dana M.Carter tweeted the photo](.  The color is a very natural yellow, and crispy, and delicious! She had her own danmuji as a side dish in her lunchbox everyday!   [Make danmuji!](   [Angela's Irresistable Homemade Hotteok](  [Angela Craig posted this, her homemade hotteok photo, on Facebook](.  Hotteok are pancakes filled with hot syrup. When I saw this photo, my mouth literally watered. If you know what hotteok tastes like, your mouth will water too, because these are perfectly made. I can see the hot syrup through the dough, she didn't miss the perfect time to take a good photo!   [How to mak hotteok](   [Marc](['s Lunar New Year Feast](  What a colorful table setting for New Year, [posted on Instagram by Marc Leong](! There is [Braised beef short ribs]( on top, then [kimchi](, [multigrain rice](, [rice cake soup](, [braised soybeans](, and on the bottom, [gujeolpan (Platter of 9 Delicacies)](!  I'm sure it was a lot of work, but it looks gorgeous and delicious!    Take care!  And see you next month!  - Maangchi    This email was sent to {EMAIL} You received this email because you are registered to get Maangchi's letter  [Unsubscribe here](  Sent by[SendinBlue](   © 2017 Maangchi Â
