A few years ago, one of my best friends at the time told me something that struck me as incredibly short-sighted. She proudly explained, “At our last team meeting, we listed our top 20 competitors and assigned 4 to each core team member. So we’re all going to get on their email lists and then report back on what everyone else is doing.” As you can probably guess, I told her what I thought and strongly recommended against it. Unfortunately, she didn’t follow my advice. And I honestly believe that that’s a huge part of the reason her once 7-figure business is now no more. But the point of this story is NOT to say, “I told you so.” It’s to call out a huge problem I see with the “online business” industry. That problem being: Everyone’s looking at everyone else to see what they’re doing. And then they’re doing what they see everyone else doing. The result? Everyone does the same thing and sounds the same way. And it’s such a waste. Because what works for someone else usually has nothing to do with what will work best for you. Unless : They know what they’re doing (instead of just parroting what they see everyone else doing). And YOU understand why they’re doing what they’re doing. Two VERY big if’s . Take for example the fact that I currently have four email lead magnets on my home page. Since shifting from a one lead-magnet offer on my home page — which I had for many years — I’ve gotten a surprising number of questions from people asking if they should have more lead magnets too. If you didn’t know why I was doing it, you’d probably simply assume more is better. More chances for people to join your email list, right? That’s the actual assumption I’ve heard most often. But you’d be wrong. The truth is, I have four different lead magnet options because they’re directed at four completely different types of clients. And it’s a small part of our current market expansion strategy. The point of all this being: Unfortunately, there’s too much of a “so-and-so is doing this and it must be working so let me just do it too” mentality in the online space. Part of it is human nature. But also, a huge part of it is that that’s what so many people are actually teaching you to do! But hopefully, now you know why that’s one of the most ineffective things you can do in your business. Plus, here’s the kicker: It’s easier to stand out anyways by NOT doing what everyone else is doing. Especially when you know what to actually do. And that’s where Unforgettable comes in. Consider it an entire course on “learning how to actually do marketing well” if you will. Because while that’s not the exact reason I created the course for you, it’s actually a huge part of the result. After going through the course, you’ll understand how to craft and communicate your unique, unforgettable, and massively profitable online presence. In a way that helps you automatically stand out no matter how crowded your industry, connect much more powerfully with your dream clients, and naturally monetize what you know in the most profitable way possible. AKA: The textbook definition of what good marketing is and does for you. So if you’ve been feeling stuck with the whole “marketing” thing, and want to create marketing that is unique, true to yourself, and super effective, I’ve got you. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
