[Lifehack.org]( Power Hour A short period of time during which you can focus intensely on a specific task or goal. [Share Today's Tip With a Friend]( Hi there, If you haven't heard of "Power Hour," let me explain.... A "Power Hour" is a short period of time, usually 60 minutes, during which a person focuses intensely on a specific task or goal. The key is to use the time to make progress on something that is important to you. It could be anything from a work project to personal chores, and it must be completed with extreme focus and effort. Because you will have to prioritize the critical tasks to complete during the Power Hour, you will ensure progress on your goals while avoiding feeling overwhelmed by a lengthy to-do list. This can increase your productivity and give you more control over your time. In the book Power Hour: How to Focus on Your Goals and Create a Life You Love, Adrienne Herbert thinks that the Power Hour is typically the first hour of the day. However, I believe the Power Hour varies depending on the circumstances of each individual. A working mother's Power Hour, for example, could take place while their children are at school. And while some people prefer to work at night, others prefer to work early in the morning. Do you know when your Power Hour is? If not, here are some questions to help you reflect on your most productive time.... 1. When are you absolutely unable to do your own work? It could be the time you have to drop off or pick up your children from school. It could be when you have to prepare dinner for your family or when you have to do some housework. You cannot have your Power Hour during these times. 2. What time of day do you typically feel more energized or focused? Is it early in the morning, late in the evening, or late in the afternoon? Once you’ve determined your Power Hour, block that time for yourself and don’t let anything or anyone interrupt. My Power Hour begins immediately after I drop my children off at school. I turn off all of my phone's alerts and prevent all team members from pinging me during that time so that I can focus on developing business strategy and initiatives. Identifying your Power Hour is the first step toward regaining control of your time and day. There is more you can do to improve the effectiveness of your Power Hour, and all of these tips are shared in our Time Mastery Bootcamp - an online productivity training workshop exclusive to LifeHack Members. The Bootcamp is now included in LifeHack's [Ultimate Productivity Bundle]( along with our premium courses and tools. Don't pass up this chance to improve your time management skills! Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
