I'm a wife, mother, immigrant, and an advocate for American families and businesses. My parents escaped from North Korea in hopes of giving our family a better life. I owe so much to my parents. I knew then that I wanted to do more to help, so I ran for the California State Board of Equalization and then, the Orange County Board of Supervisors. I was the highest-ranking Korean-American elected official in the country. I gave almost $400 million back to California taxpayers, and that put a major target on my back. I decided that I wanted to take my fight to Washington, so I ran for Congress in a Democrat-held seat. I defied all odds and by the skin of my teeth, I won. My race was one of the most hard-fought in the country. 2022 was more of the same, but we won again and helped take back the House Majority.
