Today’s newsletter is a 4-minute read. Here are some things we’re going to cover: - Single Grain’s free marketing plan - Amazon’s social attribution program - The cost of making money Eric Siu :) Actionable Tip Hey there, are you a business owner? If you are, you probably know that an expert marketing plan can change everything about your outreach. The problem is the expense, and you don’t know for sure it will work. The most successful businesses in the world adopt them, but they often pay vast amounts of money for them. However, at Single Grain, we give our initial plan away – completely for free, no strings attached. You can get yours here ([link](). This is the response that[@bryan_johnson]( gave after I asked him why he currently gives his audiobook away for free. That 6 hr 30 min video has 220k views on YouTube currently. Not bad considering how long form it is. Long form views are short form views because they actually help viewers form a relationship with the creator. Most people try to cash in their chips too early when it comes to content creation. They want to gate their content, they want to charge for their content, they want to have advertisers immediately, and the list goes on. In fact, today there was a $150M revenue company that told us during a call that they gate all their content. It's no wonder why their competitor drives 2.2M visits/mo from SEO while they drive 0. Like most things in life, delayed gratification usually leads to outsized outcomes. And like all things in life, there aren't solutions, only tradeoffs. The tradeoff Bryan is making in sacrificing short-term revenue is an increased compound audience growth rate that will be 100x+ more valuable in the long-term. The longer you can delay making money, the larger the outcome you'll have. Obviously, that's a luxury that not everyone has, so your mileage may vary. But if you don't need the money, you're better off deferring the revenue in exchange for audience growth. As I was leaving, Bryan told me that he had a celebrity coming over that night that everyone reading this knows. In fact, he has celebrities reaching out to him all the time because they're interested in his philosophies on longevity. So that's the power of compound audience growth. And like the late Charlie Munger said, "The first rule of compounding: Never interrupt it unnecessarily." Happy compounding. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
