There’s not much worse in Democratic politics than those alarmist fundraising emails. [Leaders We Deserve]( {NAME}, There’s not much worse in Democratic politics than those alarmist fundraising emails that make it sound like the world’s going to end tomorrow if you don’t give them thousands of dollars right now. Especially the ones that offer an “800% MATCH!” that doesn’t actually exist — is that even legal? It’s really important to me that our email program at Leaders We Deserve be the complete opposite of that. I want to make sure supporters like you feel like we’re respecting your time, attention, and contributions. Not like you’re being treated like a bank. [Donate $5 »]( It’s in our best interest too — because we don’t take corporate donations. We rely exclusively on the trust and generosity of donors like you to support our work to get more young candidates elected. And the quickest way to lose that trust (along with our ability to operate) would be to take your support for granted. So when we send out fundraising appeals, we’ll always be upfront about our goals and exactly what your money will go to support. Why would anyone trust an organization that doesn’t operate that way? Right now, we’re supporting an incredible slate of 13 candidates running for Congress and state legislatures across the nation. Every dollar we raise from emails like this goes directly to helping get those candidates elected. That means things like ad buys in our candidates' districts to get the word out about their campaigns. Research and polling to give campaigns a solid idea of where they stand. Travel costs so our team can meet candidates and their staff to assess the campaign on the ground, in person. We do it all to help our endorsed candidates win. But we can’t do it without you, {NAME}. Like I said, we don't take any corporate donations. [So if you want to support our work to elect a new generation of candidates across the country, will you pitch in $5 or more to Leaders We Deserve today?]( [Donate $5 »]( Thanks so much for your support, David Hogg --------------------------------------------------------------- [Donate »]( This email was sent to [{EMAIL}](#). Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
