This is not okay. [Leaders We Deserve]( Back to school season shouldn’t be the start of school shooting season. Yesterday, we saw yet another school shooting. This time at a high school in Georgia. Two students and two teachers have lost their lives, with 30 others injured. This is madness. Gun violence continues to tear this country apart. Events like this have become the norm and have scarred our future generation – the effects of which we have only begun to see. No other developed country has anywhere near the level of gun violence that we have in this country. It’s fucking unacceptable that we act like there’s nothing we can do about it. We deserve leaders who will act decisively to protect innocent lives in this country – because when they don't, children die. Gun violence is the leading cause of death for young people in this country. It’s the main issue that Gen-Z takes to the ballots and that they protest for. My classmates and I called for decisive action to end gun violence after the Parkland shooting six years ago. While we have since passed the first national gun control legislation in decades, clearly, there is so much more that needs to be done to protect innocent children in this nation. Parents should not send their children to school scared that they will not return alive. It doesn’t have to be this way. We need to end this epidemic of gun violence that runs rampant in our country. [Today, will you join me in sending your support to the children and families of Apalachee High School in Georgia through this verified GoFundMe that benefits the people and families affected directly?]( The time for thoughts and prayers has been over for years. It’s time we actually protect our children through meaningful policies and actual reform. David Hogg Leaders We Deserve This email was sent to [{EMAIL}](#).
