It’s a line that’s caught fire lately because it’s so true. [Leaders We Deserve]( MAGA Republicans are weird, {NAME}. It’s a line that’s caught fire lately because it’s so true. The things they’re obsessed with, the things they say, the policies they push for… They’re racist, sexist, and anti-democratic, obviously, but they’re also just straight up weird! Just the other day Donald Trump told the National Association of Black Journalists that Kamala Harris all of a sudden “became Black” when she started running for president. And J.D. Vance backed him up on it! Racist? Yes. Weird? Also yes! [Leaders We Deserve is working to elect young people who care about actual problems — and who understand that biracial people exist — but we need your help. Will you pitch in $5 to support our work today?]( And {NAME}, that’s just the most recent example. Republicans’ weird behavior stretches back for years. Here are a few more examples: - J.D. Vance is on tape saying things like “it’s too easy to get a divorce” and we should “punish” childless people. - Mike Johnson bragged about using "accountability software" so he and his son can monitor what each other does on the internet. (Ew) - A ton of Republicans have spent the last couple days angrily (and falsely) accusing an Algerian woman competing in women’s boxing at the Olympics of being trans. - Their entire party has fully dedicated itself to the whims of one guy, Donald Trump. Even though with the exception of 2016, they’ve lost every election they’ve had with him as the leader of their party! It’s all very, very weird. But the good news is we’ve already elected a couple of fantastic young leaders who are pushing back against this BS, and we’re working around the clock to elect even more across the country this November. While MAGA claims to want freedom, they invade your bedroom, exam room, and want to dictate what books kids read instead of letting teachers do their job. Meanwhile our candidates want people to have healthcare and the freedom to do what you want with your own body — and to make sure kids survive math class. After all, when is the last time kids died in a mass reading? We need to ban guns. Not books.
